"All done?" I asked looking at my daughter.

"Yes."

I grabbed her plate and put it in the sink to soak. I went back to her high chair and took her out.

"Why are you such a messy eater?" I asked.

She has spaghetti sauce all over her face and around the collar of her shirt.

She giggled as I kissed her cheek.

"Let's give you a quick bath."

I started the water and we went to her room to get some new clothes. I put them on her dresser and we went back to the bathroom.

I undressed her and began giving her a bath.

"Bubbles." she said.

"You want some?"

She nodded.

I put some bubble wash into the tub and let her play as I continued bathing her.

With a final rinse to her head, I stopped the water and let it drain. I lifted her out and wrapped her in her towel.

She laid her head on my shoulder as we went back to her room to get her dressed.

I put her old clothes in the hamper, threw out her diaper and put on a new diaper and fresh set of pajamas, then carried her over to her crib.

"Nap time." I smiled and stood her up in her crib.

"NO!" she yelled.

"Baby, you know you need a nap. Take one before we go see grandma and grandpa."

"NO!" she yelled again jumping up and down, pretty soon tears were falling down her face.

It's often she has meltdowns like this when she's forced to take a nap.

"Why don't you want to take a nap?" I ask.

"Nap you."

In no way did her sentences make sense most of time. That's just how it is with a two year old.

"You want to take a nap with me?" I asked pointing to my chest.

She nodded.

Y/n didn't like it when I let her. She thought it would make it harder for us to be apart from each other in the long run if y/d/n spent every minute with me while she was at work.

She was right, but I couldn't say no to her, ever.

"Alright." I said taking her out of the crib.

I walked us over to our room and laid her down on her mom's side of the bed. I crawled into my side.

Y/d/n immediately snuggled close to me and laid her head down on my chest.

I put my arm around her back, keeping her close, and kissed the top of her head.

She fell asleep immediately, and although I wasn't planning on it, I did too.
