"Come out here!" Timmy yelled from the balcony of our apartment.

I grabbed my jacket from out coat rack, zipped it up, and went outside.

It's New Year's Eve, with the coronavirus lockdown still in place; we're forced to spend the holiday at home instead of out with friends and family.

As much as I was upset about not being able to party, I was glad to bring in the new year with just my boy and I.

"It looks so weird." I said looking over the city.

No blaring sounds of traffic, the city lights were still lit, but the sidewalks were empty. Times Square looked so lonely, like it had been abandoned.

"I know." he sighed.

He's always been a city boy, especially for the New Year.

We had spent the day lazily eating and watching movies, then turned on the 'virtual' new year countdown on our TV an hour ago.

There was currently two minutes left on the countdown.

"I hope this year has good things in store." I said wrapping my arms around his waist.

"Me too." he said pulling me close and giving a kiss to the top of my head.

We stood there overlooking the city, taking in the still odd view, and feeling the cold breeze of winter air.

"Here we go!" the TV echoed "ten..nine..eight.."

The countdown reached to five seconds.

Tim let me go and turned to me.

We grinned at each other, our eyes sparkling.

"three..two..one.."

He pulled me back into him by the waist, pushing our bodies up against each other as he pressed his lips to mine.

We shared a long, passionate kiss.

A then magical one when the fireworks began to go off.

I pulled away with the widest grin. I felt blush spread over my entire face, and it wasn't just from being cold.

Timmy pressed his forehead down to mine.

"Happy New Years baby." he said.

"Happy New Years bub."

We pecked lips once again before holding each other for warmth to watch the rest of the fireworks.
