"Here we go." I said taking my newborn son out of the bassinet next to me.

He began to fuss, letting out what sounded like the start of a cry.

"Shh.." I cupped his small head in my hand "it's okay, Mommy's got you."

I got in a comfortable position, y/s/n safely held in my arms. I looked up as the hospital room door creaked open slowly.

A top head of messy curls appeared and then the shape of a full person.

"Timothée." I gasped.

He closed the door and rushed over to me, immediately cupping my face in his hands as he kissed me repeatedly.

"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry." he said.

My forehead rested against his as tears ran down my cheeks for about a minute.

"You're here now, that's all that matters."

He moved away, looking down at our wrapped bundle of joy.

His eyes began to fill with tears. "Ca-can I?" he choked up.

I nodded and lifted my arms, Timothée's scooping under as he took y/s/n.

"He looks just like you." he smiled at me before looking back down at him.

I wiped away my flooding tears, but it was no use, they're not stopping any time soon.

Timothée sat down in the chair on the opposite side of the bed. Y/s/n was back asleep.

"How are you feeling?"

"Tired, a little sore." I sighed.

"I'm sorry."

"Tim-"

"No," he shook his head "I have to say I'm sorry y/n, I wasn't here."

"It's okay, Timothée." my voice cracked as I put my hand on his arm.

"I shouldn't have gone."

flashback

"Are you sure you're going to be alright?" he put his luggage by the front door.

"Yes." I nodded.

Timothée's on his was to Los Angeles to do some last minute press for his new movie. He'll only be gone for a week.

"But what if something happens while I'm away? I'll never forgive myself."

I walked toward him, pulling his face to mine and gave him a long kiss.

"Nothing's going to happen," I reassured.

His hands went to my large bump.

"he's not due for another four weeks, we'll both be alright."

I put my hands on his. "Promise you'll call me if anything happens?" he asks.

"I promise."

He took his hands off my bump and smiled at me once more before giving me a kiss and then walked out the door with a final goodbye.

end of flashback

Well, something did happen. Y/s/n decided to arrive just two days after Timothée left.

"Your Mom was with me the whole time, she just left two hours ago."

"That's good," he said "di-did she say anything about me at all?"

I knew he was going to ask that. "Yeah..she said you shouldn't have gone either.."

Disappointment covered his face. "I should have known better."

"She did say something else about you though, during the labor, pushing, and all that."

"What did she say?"

"That you wouldn't want me to give up, that I could get through it because I'm strong,"

My hand moved from Timothée's arm and over to y/s/n's small face, thumb on his cheek.

"And it turns out that I am."

"You're the strongest woman I've ever known y/n, seriously."

"Thank you." I grinned.

"And I promise I'll be there for the next one."

"The next one?" I raised my brow.

"Our next baby." he lifted y/d/n up a little and winked as I laughed.
