Chapter 72

Roddy POV

3 weeks later

Me and Bird came to the hospital together to visit Jackie, it's been 3 weeks now and she's still in a coma.

We walked inside and up to the front receptionist and I said "We're here for Jacqueline Moore".

"Oh okay give me one second" She said and I nodded my head as we backed up a bit.

"Man it's been three weeks, she should be better by now" I said sighing.

"I know. It's just taking more time since the bullets were on each side of her body, but she gone pull through. I know she is" Bird said.

"You right. My baby got it" I said.

"Alright, follow me" The nurse said to me and Bird and we followed her into the halls and walked down to Jackie's room.

She was no longer hooked up to the machines, she was just laying in the bed with her eyes closed.

"Okay she's off the machines now, she's able to breathe by herself again." The nurse said and I sighed of relief.

"Thank you God." I said looking up.

"However she is still in a coma, still in this state of sleep. And whenever she does wake up from this, she will be in pain but we got her medication ready for her, and we're gonna put a cast around her ribs and stomach." The nurse said.

"Like I had to do" I said remembering when I got shot.

"I remember" Bird said sighing and shaking his head.

"But okay nurse, thank you." I said and she nodded her head saying "No problem" before walking out the room.

I looked over at Bird and said "I'm getting them niggas. I just had to wait, because if I did it now, it'll be obvious it was one of us that got them"

"Yeah I'm glad you waited a bit" Bird said. Then we both looked over at Jackie and sighed, sitting on the chairs by the hospital bed she was laying in.

"Wassup baby. Me and Bird here. I hope you can hear us" I said.

"We miss you sis" Bird said.

"We do. And baby, I've been holding it down at your store. Business is still running and it's doing very well." I said.

"Very well, didn't a few outfits sell out?" Bird asked me.

"Yep plenty. The store's doing great baby. Myrical and Jr are fine, I got them don't worry. I've been using enfamil to feed Myrical since you know, you can't breast feed right now. But yeah and she's been eating Gerber's, she straight." I said, then I looked at her and sighed, rubbing my hand over hers.

"I love you" I said.

"Head up man, she wouldn't want you down like this" Bird said to me and I sighed saying "I know"

I stood up from the bed and so did Bird and we got closer to Jackie.

"Da'Vion Jackson?" The nurse said to him walking in the room.

"Yes, that would be me" Bird said.

"Your wife Justine is out in the front" She said.

"Oh okay, I'll be right back Roddy" Bird said and I nodded my head saying "Okay" as he left.

I looked down at Jackie saying "Come on baby. Pull through please.."

I grabbed her hand and kissed it before holding it.

"You a trooper baby. You a war baby. My war baby." I said.

That's her favorite song off my album because she says she can relate to that one the most. But that's because that what me and her are. For sure.
