Last year I took a creative writing class that started at the beginning of lockdown. My only assignment was to write two pages a day and try to record my thoughts/feelings and what the world was going through at the time. All of this is completely unedited so if there are a lot of mistakes I apologize. I wanted to keep it as genuine to what I was thinking and trying to say at the time. I hope you enjoy this dive into the chaos that is my thought process.All Rights Reserved

Over the Wall: A Collection of Short Stories (NaNoWriMo 2014) by emmernemmer

This year for NaNoWriMo, I am writing a short story anthology. It will feature thirty or so short stories (my hope is to write one per day to fulfill my 1,667 per day word requirement) about varying things. Each morning, I will randomly select a number between one and thirty and I will look at the corresponding list of first lines I will have. I will take that line and write a short story using it and then the next day I will do the process over again (some stories might relate to each other, some might not). Anyway I will edit the story for that day and post it here. It may not be posted exactly on the corresponding day, but in the end there will be thirty short stories. P.S. Although these are somewhat edited they are still rough drafts so please treat them as such.

"Dear diary, To my surprise, today we talked a lot. It's been a while since we've chatted like that. He's been very cold to me lately, constantly ignoring me. But during the second lesson he suddenly said that he would recognize my handwriting among all others. Could it be that there are indeed some hidden feelings behind his rude behavior? Can my unrequited love grow into a mutual one? There's still time until our graduation... And, in the meantime, after school my boyfriend had a surprise waiting for me again. He is so romantic. How am I supposed to tell him that I am still in love with my classmate? "A living dog is better than a dead lion". So what should I do if I want to keep the dog by my feet while trying to resurrect the lion?" This book is my personal treasure because it is written based on my genuine school diary. During the last year of high school, I fought for my one-sided love while dating a cool guy, and, had an English teacher fall in love with me all at the same time. This diary sheds light on common Russian school life. Love, drama, adventure, shame, inner growth, depression and much more awaits inside".

Some people would call this a journal. I wouldn't be one of those people. Sure, I write about my day, and my feelings and about friends and various events that happen... and I'm starting to see why people call this a journal. But it isn't! I'm the writer and I say so! Creative Writing 2 Journals by JessycaBrooks

A collection of 'journals' from my Creative Writing 2 class. Journals are like warm-ups that we do daily at the beginning of class. Each journal has a prompt that my wonderful teacher creates or finds online. The first 4 have a paragraph at the beginning in parenthesis that says "Paraphrased Prompt" because I don't remember exactly, word for word, what the prompt was. There shall be about 80 journals at least by the end of the semester. After journal number 43, it restarts at 1 because a new grading period began.. Each journal is MY writing; therefore, I own it. If you have any questions just ask me. :)

Because I'm getting antsy from not posting and my profile seems really blank, I want to start catching up on posting the daily journal prompts we write in my creative writing class. We take 10 minutes to write for each journal, so the entries are rarely complete thoughts. They're not daily, per se, but I just want to post them. Give y'all something to read. Spoilers for incoming projects, maybe? Things I thought about adding in later, but might not. Really just an outlet for imagination.
