I was running out of time. And maybe, so was Riverdale. Hiram Lodge had been making moves. Big moves. But with no proof of criminal behavior, all I could do was speculate. Even with Mercy's knowledge we didn't have cold hard facts to present. What was Hiram master plan for Riverdale? And why did it feel so close to fruition?
Mercy POV
I sit and listen as Toni and Fangs get on me about Jenson.
Fangs:You hurt my best friend! You're lucky your my friend!
Me:I-
Toni:He was so nervous he was afraid to even tell you!
Me:Guys...
Fangs:Like I thought you guys would be good together! You're so heartless!
Me:Can I -
Toni:It's not even that! She's so nonchalant with emotions it's mind boggling!
Fangs:She's putting my best friend through toxic relationship tension.
Me:*Yelling* Guys!
I glare at them as they glare at me, I take a seat and they follow.
Me:I do love him! But when he said it I wasn't expecting it so I automatically asked for him to repeat it!
Toni:What happened?
Me:When he said it, I sorta blanked and before I can come back he was gone. I'm dealing with some shit guys and when he said it, it sorta got lost in my head. But I do, I swear I do.
Fangs:Well you need to tell him before he jumps off a bridge or something.
Me:He won't return my calls.
Toni:I'll call him. He's probably at the Wyrm.
Me:I'll go to his house. His mom should be home, now. You two don't break anything like last time.
Fangs:No promises!
Me:Tell that to my mom!
I grab my coat and walk out, I get into my dad's car and drive down towards Jenson's house. When I get outside I see the lights on and I get out, I knock on the door and after a few minutes he opens the door, shirt off and basketball shorts low on his waist. He leans against the door and lifts his hand in a yes like motion.
Me:You didn't give me time to comprehend what you said.
Jenson:I stared at you for two minutes longer than I should've after repeating myself, after embarrassing myself so sorry if I didn't stay for an hour.
I step back and chuckle.
Me:Why are you being such a jerk?
He leans on his back leg and looks to the side before looking at me.
Jenson:What do you have to tell me, Mercy?
Me:What are you talking about?
Jenson:Aw, come on don't give me that crap! What are you hiding from me?
Me:What are you talking about?
Jenson:Why is your bike in sunny side trailer where is your car?
Me:Why are you asking me all of this? It's only been two days! Is this all because I didn't say I love you fast enough?
Jenson:No, it's because I can tell when you're lying and hiding something! What were you doing that night?
