It was the ultimate cliffhanger. Clifford Blossom had killed himself. But why? Life's not a Agatha Christie novel. It's a lot messier.
Turns out, maple syrup was a front for his true business. Transporting heroin from Montreal on his trucks. A narrative quickly emerged.
That Jason learned about dear old dads drug running and threatened to expose the truth. Which led to Jason's abduction at the hands of a Southside serpent named Mustang. And then to Jason's murder at the hands of his father. Clifford killed Mustang to cover his tracks, making it look like he overdosed, and tried to implicate a rival businessman, Hiram Lodge, as having mastermind the whole thing.
And oh yeah, I almost forgot. Mr. Blossom threatened me and my best friend's life, so my dad would confess to pulling the trigger, even though all he did was clean up the mess. And he wouldn't have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for a group of pesky kids who uncovered the truth.
Even as Clifford Blossom, consumed by guilt and shame, took the cowards way out... Jason's murder had revealed some dark truths none of us were too eager to face. Especially not mayor McCoy, who wanted every last vestige of corruption crushed like a snake under a boot heel.

Mercy POV
Time Lapse to that night.
I walk out to the car Jenson following me, once we make it I turn to him and he looks at me with a small grin.
Me:4290
He frowns and I roll my eyes.
Me:The last four digits to my number. It's 4290.
He nods with a look of realization hits him. He chuckles and shakes his head.
Jenson:I had it for about a week now... It was Toni, Sweet pea and Fangs.
Me:So why didn't you call?
I walk to the front of my car and he follows and we lean against it side by side. He shrugs.
Jenson:I was thinking it over, if I should talk to you. You're from over here and I'm from the Southside. Your friends are different from mine, your school, your community I'm positive your house is different too. I just thought I wouldn't fit in to your picture.
I look at him and he shrugs looking at his breath in the air, I smile a little and nod.
Me:So you thought the girl from the other side of the tracks wouldn't date you because she's from the quote on quote good neighborhood? I'm a Serpent, my best friend is a serpent I have friends that are serpents and I'm the Niece to the Serpent King. My dad and mom grew up over there and I grew up over there until I was 10, that's how I met Jughead. Didn't you meet me at the Wyrm? *laughs* come on, feel like getting something to eat?
Jenson:Absolutely.
We get in and I look over at him once I start the car.
Me:Word of advice?
Jenson:Sure.
Me:If the girl isn't worried about it, you don't worry about it. So can we consider this our first mini date?
Jenson:*grinning* only if you let me pay.
