Mercy POV

I sit with the others as Kevin tells us what happened. This is really getting scary.

Kevin:It was full on Carrie. Midge covered in Moose's blood, screaming like a banshee. It was insane.

Archie:Kev, what were you even doing out there? You could have been shot, too.

I look at him and he clears his throat but it doesn't help with the voice cracking.

Kevin:I was just night jogging, you know, as one does and I suddenly hear gunshots.

Archie:Can we at least agree now that there's a killer on the loose?

Me:We never disagreed with it, Archie we just disagreed on it being the same one that killed Ms. Grundy and who shot your dad.

Jughead:With terrible aim.

Archie:He killed Ms. Grundy.

Betty:Archie, we don't know that all three crimes are related.

Me:I mean... That we know of. These are going back to back almost, it's the same person Nine times outta ten.

Veronica:Guys can we focus on what matters here. Midge and moose are alive. Archie's dad survived. The new season of the Matcherette starts tonight.

Jughead leans over to me and whispers.

Jughead:And the love of his teenage life died, twice now.

I try to keep the grin off my face pushing him away before I tune back in to what the princess is going on about.

Jughead:There is a shooter terrorizing our town, and you really want us to watch a gross reality dating show?

Veronica:What I really want is for you guys to meet my dad, officially. Back in New York, my dad was always in his study. Doing very bad things as it turns out. I'm tired of closed doors. I need to know my dad's life and he needs to know mine.

Me:So since he's my uncle I don't have to go?

Betty:We'll be there, V. Can't wait.

Veronica:Thank you.

Soon Reggie and some other players are at the door and call for Archie. And Jughead leaves to meet his mentor. Soon it's just me and Kevin as Betty and Veronica leave, I shake my head at him.

Kevin:What?

Me:Night jogging?

Kevin:I'm trying to get fit for wrestling.

Me:You're really saying this to me with a straight face?

Kevin:*sighs*Fine, I was just cruising Fox Forest.

Me:You horny boy, Kevin you know that's not safe on any level. I know you're getting over Joaquin but cruising in the middle of the night? That's too risky even for me. Get on a dating site or something? What's it called? Grind'em?

Kevin:Because no one's who they are online. Atleast in real life, what you see is what you get, there's no surprises.

Me:... You realize that people get kidnapped and butchered like that right? Bothways online and off. Moose and Midge were shot, literally, 300 yards from Fox Forest and the person who did it is still out here. Just promise me you won't go back there until this bastard is caught.
