3 years post graduation

I walk out of the airport to the Uber I ordered. I'm coming to see Munroe's game and it's also our fourth anniversary. I call Munroe and he doesn't pick up. I shrug and go to my hotel and shower before slipping on some better clothes, my phone finally rings and I smirk seeing his name.

Phone Call

Munroe:Hey, Cy, you here?

Me:Yeah, I'm at the hotel now. You busy?

Munroe:Nah, me and the guys are going out to eat wanna come? They're inviting their girls. It's nothing special.

Me:*scoffs*Of course I'm starving, I'll meet you at your dorm in like 30 minutes.

Munroe:Alright, Bet.

I hang up and slip my shoes on, I text Alex that I've made it and where I'm headed before leaving out. I got a car for my time here because I'm not about to spend over 200 dollars on Uber and Lyft. When I make it to the dorms I show them my ID at the front desk and who I'm here for and they give me a visitor pass before I make it to his room. The door is open and I hear them all the way down the hall, Anthony being the loudest.

Anthony:You really trying to make this work and you know you aren't in it anymore. Especially after reading that shit.

I roll my eyes, this is coming from the only single guy in his group of friends. I hear a new voice speak.

??: They're in a long distance relationship, it's amazing they lasted this long, bro shut up you're just mad you can't keep a girl as good as her for as long as him. And I doubt that was about her, you're just speculating.

Anthony:Man, do you see that dude she's always with? He's definitely hitting that, you can't tell me he's not. And why would her best friend speculate?

Munroe:Shut up, man, you're always talking shit.

Anthony:All I'm saying is that we know that you're ready to leave, just leave-

Me:Hey guys.

Anthony jumps and I raise an eyebrow and Munroe gets up and hugs me tightly picking me up, I giggle and kiss his cheek as I hug him back.

Munroe:I've missed you.

Me:Missed you too. Hey guys.

Anthony:What's up Ms. Mega bucks.

I roll my eyes at him and Doug waves to me and I hear his girlfriend walk in. I smile at her and she smiles back.

It's sorta awkward and I look at Munroe and smile.

Me:How was your day?

He grins and nods.

Munroe:It was better than the past few, coach wasn't trying to run us ragged. How was your trip?
