We sit outside as Jughead tells us about the emptiness that is pops.
Jughead:No one was there. His entire staff quit. He says he's not sure how long he'll be able to keep the doors open, maybe not even a week.
Archie:It's because of what happened to my dad. People are freaking out. And I gotta be honest, guys, I don't see myself going back any time soon.
Betty:Wait, I'm sorry, am I hearing acceptance? I'm not letting one psychopath with a gun dictate what happens to our place. Jug you went crazy trying to save the drive-in.
Jughead:I can't take on anymore social issues right now. My hands are full.
Betty:With your dad of course. And he should be your priority.
Me:I'll do it.
Betty:and I'll help.
Veronica:Me too, hey anything to get me away from my parents, I'm in.
Me:Didn't end well huh?
Veronica:*sighs* Not by a long shot. You?
Me:My dad is my dad, always cheerful, still picks me up like I weigh nothing.
Jughead:Another, triple threat team up. They should really make a video game about you guys. I gotta jet I'm off to meet my dad's court- appointed joke of a lawyer at the sheriff's station.
Archie:I'm gonna come with you, jug. I gotta drop some flyers off for Sheriff Keller.
They get up and I sigh looking at my phone.
Me:I gotta go, I'm supposed to be meeting my parents at Diana's for dinner. See you guys.
Betty:I'll text you.
Me:Alright.
I walk to my bike and ride off the little restaurant in town.
When I make it inside I see my mom and dad smiling and giggling like high school sweethearts. Makes me sick but it's cute. I walk up to them and sit infront of them.
Dad:I ordered you the bacon double cheese burger with fries.
Me:Perfect. Thanks.
Mom:I was just catching your dad up to speed about everything.
Me:Oh yeah? Cool
Dad:Yeah, so what is this I hear about you getting questioned by the police?
Me:They suck at their job, they asked me about Chuck and what I was doing on the 11th of July.
Dad:Yeah and you were with Archie?
Me:Yeah.
Dad:Who else did they take in?
Me:What does it matter?
Dad:Mercy.
Me:Jughead.
Dad:Didn't I tell you to stop hanging out with that boy? Him and his daddy ain't shit but bad news. Look where's he at now.
Me:You can't blame that on him! He did it to protect his son and me!
Dad:Why would he need to protect you?
