In "Woman Thou Art Loosed", Todd didn't love Michelle. He didn't even love love Keisha. He was obsessed with the idea of Michelle.
Why do I say this? Instead of him marrying a woman who looked like Michelle (Keisha, his ex-wife), but had less trauma, a man who actually loved Michelle would have been there for Michelle. He would have visited her in prison, even though she would have pushed him away at first. A man who loved her would have listened to her testimony.
A man who loved her would have gotten a lawyer and gotten her out of prison, because she actually should have been found mot guilty (due to the circumstances of the case). A man who loved her would have been there for her through therapy, job training, trade school/college, and rehab. A man who loved her would have been patient with her, as she learned how to love herself, before she could be able to love him back.
And if she did love him back, a man who loved her would have married her, and been a good husband to her. Yes, a man will do that for the woman he actually loves. But Todd didn't love Michelle. He desired to possess her. That's why he only wanted to be with her when it was easy, and also why his marriage with Keisha failed.
