When dealing with any gaslighting liar, just walk away. They only have the power over you that you give them. You know the truth, and they do too, so you don't need to try to prove anything to them; they just don't care about the truth. Their goal in devious denial is to get you frustrated enough to doubt yourself/the truth in confusion over their behavior.
That's why Veronica remains calm, despite claiming that she is being falsely accused of something (wouldn't that fluster you?), yet Ayanna is angry (for being wronged (wouldn't you be?). Gaslighters are liars that make you go crazy by making you feel like you're crazy. Gaslighters are abusive narcissists.
All Ayanna needed to do was report Veronica to their professor/college, for plagiarism. Veronica had to eventually admit the truth, to their teacher, due to the evidence.
