Supporting someone through setbacks is like teaching them how to walk. I somehow taught myself and my twin how to walk without ever first learning to crawl.

Supporting someone through grief  is like teaching them how to swim. I taught myself in 10-15 minutes how to doggy paddle through mimicry and willpower.

Supporting someone through trauma is like teaching them how to to ride a bike. The scariest thing about learning how to bike is that the training wheels have to come off, and you have to be let go to ride.
