Supporting someone through grief is like teaching them how to swim. I taught myself in 10-15 minutes how to doggy paddle through mimicry and willpower.
Supporting someone through trauma is like teaching them how to to ride a bike. The scariest thing about learning how to bike is that the training wheels have to come off, and you have to be let go to ride.
