What some people don't seem to understand about vindictive vengeance is that once you get revenge, you two are officially even. The other person now doesn't owe you anymore atonement attempts. Your wrong and their wrong has negated each other. They can now end the (human) relationship without anymore guilt, because they've been punished by you already, and they're are thus free of your/their commitment.
Just stop. It's done. It's over. You win.
