SAKUSA KIYOOMI

"Excuse me?" I scoffed in disbelief. Did she just conditioned me to to date her?

I can't do that. I promised myself that I'd get Saki back no matter what. Even with Atsumu in the way, Daina, or even Koemi; they can't stop me.

"Can't you see, Kiyoomi?" She lets out a wry laugh. "I like you."

"Sorry. I don't like you that way." I didn't hesitate to reply in a blunt and direct manner as I only faced her with a straight face, slowly placing the book back in the shelf.

If I have to date her to be able to get the books...I can't. I just can't and I won't.

"I-it's fine!"

"You sound desperate, Daina-san."

"I don't care if you don't have feelings for me now..." She looked down on the floor as she mumbled, then she looked back at me with pleading face. "I really like you Kiyoomi! I don't care if you're a germaphobe, or if you hate physical contact...or if you don't like me back! I just...like you."

Is this woman crazy?

Sighing heavily, I shook my head. Is this how I sound when I asked Misaki to come back? And now that I thought about it, Daina and I were in similar situations. Saki did say she doesn't feel the same anymore...

...but it's not like that's gonna stop me.

"Kiy—"

"Daina-san." I cut her off, speaking in my usual monotone voice. "Wouldn't you want to be with someone who also likes you back?"

How funny. I wonder if Misaki really did lose feelings for me?

"I...of course!"

She instantly answered. It was an easy question; of course anyone would answer the same.

"Then...we can't date." I said sternly, watching her spirits drop to the lowest level I can possibly imagine. "I like someone else. For years now."

"Huh?" She scrunched her nose in confusion and stress. "I don't understand...Koemi said you're not into anyone right now..."

"She may be my sister but she doesn't know a damn thing about me."

"But Kiyoomi! Your sister and my brother are married, isn't it only practical for us to be too?" Her voice started wavering as she stepped closer in desperate plead. "It can benefit both of our families. Imagine, you a professional volleyball player with a rising model like me as your girlfriend...wouldn't that strike the media?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, grimacing. "I don't care about the fame."

Daina fell silent as she presented a frown before looking down on the floor. Until the silence furthered on for the next few minutes, I thought of excusing myself, declining the offer of borrowing the books and just search for some other copy instead.

"Then I'll change my condition and you can borrow my books."

What the hell does she want this time?

"Give me a chance to show you that I do like you Kiyoomi. Who knows?" Daina said, smirking. "Maybe you'll fall for me."

——

"Impossible." I scoffed.

"She really said that?!" Komori started laughing hysterically as he fell from the couch and to the floor with a loud 'thud'.

I rolled my eyes and attached my eyes back on the TV screen with one of the Schweiden Adlers past games playing right in front of us. With the game approaching in less than two days we busied ourselves training, honing our skills, and putting all our strength and energy to prepare for this Saturday.
