TW: mentions of suicide and self harm‼️‼️THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW
MSBY won their first game of the season today. Right after the match, everyone decided for a dinner celebration of their first victory that took them to the next round. It was already 11 PM in a 24-hour diner with empty beer cans ontop of the table and a whole team of volleyball men engaged in conversations along with their boisterous voices filling the atmosphere. Luckily, there was no other customer but them.
As they continued chatting random topics, their one teammate seated silently by the end of the table lets out a tired sigh for the hundredth time today. He was happy that the team will be moving to the next round (it was expected), he was relieved to have time away from the two women who's constantly been dragging him around, and he was glad to have a small victory sip of alcohol after a tiring day.
Yet as he looked down on his phone, eagerly waiting for a reply from a certain woman, he felt empty.
He didn't see her in the bleachers cheering for the team even anywhere near Tomoe, Sai, and Komori, and as he asked them where she was, all her bestfriend replied was that she'll be busy the whole day.
Therapy? No, Sakusa knew her schedule like the back of his hand — incase. Out on a date? But Atsumu was in the same court as him the whole day. He only reassured himself by thinking she was out with her Karasuno friends. But is it really that important that she couldn't watch the match?
He looked down again upon hearing a small 'ding' from the device. Just as the notification popped up in his screen, he frowned in disappointment.
'1 notification from Tsukami Tomoe'
: Sai and I are on our way to her apartment to check on her. We're on our way but we're still quite far.
: She hasn't replied to our texts. Something might have happened again.
The wing-spiker's eyes widened anxiously as flashbacks of what happened before occurred in his mind. What if she's doing it again?
Instantly, he typed a reply.
I'll go. You two don't have to. I'm nearer anyway.
A chill ran down Sakusa's spine as he abruptly stood up, silencing his teammates to look at him.
"Omi-kooon~ yer weak ass can't handle more than one?" slurred Atsumu followed by drunk laughs from Bokuto and Hinata.
"Alcohol—" Hinata hiccuped, "—no, beer, isn't that bad~"
Sakusa only rolled his eyes before grabbing his wallet and phone from the table, turning to the only decent sober in the group, Meian. "I have to go." He said. "I have to be elsewhere."
"'Ya sure you don't want another drink? This is a one time chance before we get serious for the next game." The captain asked.
Sakusa shook his head 'no' before his other drunk teammates waved a careless goodbye, passing out as soon as the black-haired man exited the place.
He knocked. For the fifth time. He stood patiently outside the door and waited for a response. But it was eerily silent. No barks from the pomeranian, no shuffling of feet, and even the TV wasn't making a sound. At this point, Sakusa was ready to barge in.
