THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEWSilence was all there was the next five minutes as they stood in the balcony with their bodies leaning against the railing and a seven feet distance in between. Misaki's steady breathings and Sakusa's shaky one along with the collective chirps of the crickets was all that was heard.
They thought of words to say, debating who'll speak first, but none of the two showed their intentions. They continued on with a very awkward silence, shuffling around with stiff movements, and just spoke in their minds.
How should I tell her that I'm letting her go? Sakusa thought, a heavy sigh escaping is lips.
How should I tell him? Where should I start? Misaki thought, a calm sigh escaping her lips.
With a deep inhale, she calms herself down, keeping a straight composure before turning to him.
"Sakusa—"
"Can I go first?" The black-haired man interrupted, eyes stern as they made eye contact. "I'll keep it short and quick."
"It's fine...take your time."
He nodded, taking a deep breath and letting a minute pass before he finally gathered the right words to say.
"I'm sorry about what you saw last night."
"It's fine—"
"Wait let me finish." Sakusa gulped, trying to stay as composed as possible. "She threw herself on me, you have to believe me. And admit what I've done and I knew that I kiss back, I was aware and I was drunk yet I didn't try stopping Daina. I just...lost it, Yua-san...when you said you like him...Miya that is."
"Huh?" Misaki furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Sakusa, you heard that...?"
Sakusa didn't reply, instead, he got closer until their bodies were only inches apart. Misaki's heart started racing nervously at their closeness as a few seconds passed. There was silence again, until Sakusa lets out a grunt before bending down, resting his forehead on her shoulder as her arms snaked around her waist.
Misaki stood frozen and shocked. Her slightly shaking body completely calmed down, as if their close physical contact was the reason behind it. Before she could speak, she felt his arms squeeze her lightly to pull her close, then Sakusa spoke again.
"I don't really say this alot to you back then and I regret it." His deep, monotone voice whispered almost inaudibly in her ear, sending shivers down her spine.
"I love you, Yua. And I never stopped."
"But I understand. I'm just telling you this one last time. Because, I'll stop now—"
"Sakusa-san, wait." She interrupted him.
Furrowing his eyebrows, Sakusa loosened his grip on her waist and awaited for a reply, that is until he felt Misaki lightly push him away from her as they now face each other.
Then she brought her hands up to cup his face. Sakusa tensed up at the sudden touch, making Misaki flinch at his reaction and was about to retract her hands, but he nodded. Sakusa nodded his head for approval of her touch and sighed.
