THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEWI can't disturb Motoya. Sakusa thought, sighing deeply as he placed his phone above his stomach whilst staring at the ceiling with an arm on his forehead.
"Why does he have to be on the other side of Japan of all times." He groaned.
With his cousin — and love advisor — away for a game, Sakusa could only think of such plain and boring ways to approach Misaki. He thought of directly telling her his feelings that have never left, but what if this time it's Misaki that no longer has those feelings?
Maybe taking her out, calling it a 'friendly date' and catching up would be a better excuse to have alone time with her without Atsumu hogging her all to himself, but Sakusa had no idea how to tell her that.
The only thing he's afraid of if she's changed after five years completely of no communication.
But she won't change that easily...right? He thought.
His fingers subconsciously moved to his recent calls, looking for the unsaved number that called his phone few days ago. He found it in no time and stared at the certain numbers for a minute.
Should I call her? But it's already 1:00 AM.
What if she's already asleep? She must be tired and jet lagged.
CLICK!
RINGGGG! RINGGG!
"Shit." Sakusa's eyes widened as he realized his thumb has pressed the call button.
He decided not to end it and just wait for no one to answer the—
"Hello?"
Someone has picked up the call, making Sakusa jolt up from his bed and panic as he paced around his room whilst rehearsing a few words to say.
"Hello?" The voice called out again.
Gathering all his courage, Sakusa grabbed his phone and replied simply, "Hello."
"Uhh...who...is this?"
The voice was groggy, croaky, and dry. This isn't her voice. The wavy-haired man thought and furrowed his eyebrows.
"This is Sakusa."
The person from the other line stayed silent, making Sakusa wonder if he got the wrong number or not. He was about to hang up when the voice spoke again in a forced soft tone.
"Oh, Sakusa-san."
"Sa— Yua-san?" He cringed as her last name along with an honorific rolled out of his mouth which is something he was not used to.
"Yeah...that's me."
Where'd that sweet and angelic voice go? What happened? Why does she sound sick?
"How'd you get my number?" Misaki questioned.
Hestitantly, Sakusa replied. "Miya used my phone to call you...and you also called me before—"
