THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEWThe Sakusa family sat in the dining table of the Nanami's residence for a no-occasion family dinner as they casually conversed like they usually do.
While the heads of both families laughed in their own conversations and Koemi, her husband Nanami Nishoka and sister-in-law Nanami Daina in a separate talk, Kiyoomi idly sat beside his sister like the withdrawn person he is.
If he could, he would, but unfortunately he can't leave just yet or else he'd be rude to his sister's in-law family. Just then, tiredness started kicking in Kiyoomi's body from today's intense training; spiking all those merciless tosses from Atsumu and receiving some killer serves from his teammates, he was exhausted to the bone and he only wished being at his apartment right now, having the night all to himself (while also searching for those books he so wanted to read).
Sighing in frustration, he leaned on the chair with his hands on the pockets of his MSBY jacket he refused to take off as he stared down.
What could she be doing at this hour? He thought.
Misaki, like always since she came back to Japan, crossed his mind again. Her mere presence inside the gymnasium was enough to waver his 'unshakable' and stoic personality yet he secretly shows off in hopes of him getting her attention.
Since the night Kiyoomi confessed at his apartment and the rejection he received, he wasn't able to sleep without asking himself: 'Why?'. And even if he does, he can't get a proper answer.
Kiyoomi was too lost in his thoughts that he didn't realize Koemi has been calling him a few times now.
What if Miya actually gets her?
"Omi!"
I'll ask her on a date.
"Kiyoomi!"
When we'll win against Adlers this Saturday, I'll ask her out after, right on the spot.
"Sakusa Kiyoomi!"
I'm not taking 'no' for an answer—
Koemi's palm came flying behind Kiyoomi's back and as soon as it made contact along with a loud 'smack!' that's sure to leave a handprint despite the thick fabric of the jacket, the germaphobe finally snapped back to reality.
"What the fuck Koemi?" He hissed, half-whispering to his sister.
"You were spacing out!" Koemi half-whispered back. "We've been calling you these past five minutes."
Then someone cleared their throat from across them, making the Sakusa siblings turn to Mrs. Nanami who was awkwardly smiling at the two.
"I apologize for how I acted, Nanami-san." Kiyoomi didn't hesitate to quickly bow his head out of respect for the older woman.
Mrs. Nanami chuckled, waving her hand. "I told you, Kiyoomi, there's no need to be formal with us. We're family."
Kiyoomi nodded silently and stayed completely quiet as he wished for the silence to continue, until eventually Mrs. Nanami kept talking again.
"I heard you and Daina have been seeing each other alot lately?" She smiled.
Mentally grimacing, the ace didn't know what to respond.
"Yeah!" Daina popped up. "We have."
"Mm, that's great, dear. You can finally find yourself a good husband."
No way. Kiyoomi quickly discarded the thought of marrying some other woman. He doesn't hate Daina and neither did he think she's someone to hate, but with Misaki back in his life, he can only think of making her his again — or atleast try.
