PAIGE;

I'd never given much thought to how I would die before my dreams started to haunt me.

-

My neck gushes blood as I whimper in pain. I cry more as I look at my hands that are covered in my blood.

I leave my hand on my neck and start to back crawl away.

-

But dying in the arms of someone I love seems like a good way to go.

-

I'm picked up and set on someone's lap. "Paige it's ok I'm here" the voice from the person I love whimpered, trying not to cry.

I opened my eyes, hoping to see his face. I smiled weakly as I see him,

'Jungkook'

-

The sound of my alarm clock manages to wake me up as I slowly open my eyes. I roll over to turn it off and when I do, my notifications catch my attention.

I see a long paragraph 'happy birthday' text from Xavier as well as similar but shortened texts from my friends and long-distance relatives. Then I look at the date.

'December 21st'

It's my eighteenth birthday. My birthday and my apparent death day.

I get up and walk into my restroom. My eyes have bags underneath them, I haven't been properly sleeping since that night. I can't close my eyes without seeing that shadow monster haunting me.

I do my business then get into the shower.

I didn't last long, just did the necessities before getting out. I dried myself and decided to wear some cute clothes.

I knew my mother was going to take some photos later for her social media so I decided, why not.

Every year Lucas and I unintentionally match. I'm hoping this year that we don't.

I put on a navy blue long-sleeved turtle neck and a black skirt. I smile at my outfit but frown at the bags under my eyes.

I decided to do a small makeup look and it seemed to do the job.

As I finished I couldn't help but feel like something was missing. I looked around until my eyes landed on the necklace that Jungkook gave me.

I sighed and put it on, it was still one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, and it also matched with my outfit.

I stare at my reflection in the mirror and muster a fake smile before I slowly drop it.

The dreadful day has finally come.

I walk out of my room and proceed down the stairs where I hear the rest of my family.

"Swishy!"

I let out a soft grunt when I felt Cole crash into me. He smiles brightly up at me as my own smile makes an appearance.

"Happy birthday!" He exclaims. In the corner of my eye, I see my parents and older brothers standing around the counter in the kitchen.

I lean down and pick up Cole for a hug. He giggles and holds me just as tightly as I hold him.

I have to look happy for them.

"Thank you, Cole," I say and nuzzle into his neck. He still smelled like a baby, my favorite scent on him.

I could see my parents look at each other hesitantly, they still think that I don't know.

I made Eric promise me that he wouldn't tell our parents then he told me everything.
