YESTERDAY EVENING

I look around and sigh. The summit always looked calm when the sun was setting. I wished I could understand the beauty Paige always vented about when she talked about it.

I was always so scared of the summit. But the thought of her in my mind made me feel less scared.

"It's just over here" Eric says as I follow after him, "I appreciate your help by the way man. I didn't think she would break down all the way out here"

"It's no problem" I say with a smile. This was the moment I've been looking forward to ever since I've met Eric.

I remembered Paige telling me that Eric never liked any boys that had a crush on her, not even Gavin. It even took Eric a couple of years to trust Xavier, so I knew he wasn't going to like me from the start, but it couldn't hurt to get on his good side.

"Here she is, old Betty" Eric says as we both stand in front of an old black pick up truck, "My pride and joy"

I smiled, Paige told me all about 'old' Betty. Eric fixed her up when he turned sixteen, it was basically his first vehicle. He always picked up and dropped off the twins in it.

"Let's see the damage" Eric says with a clap before he opens the hood. I stand over beside him and take a look as well.

Over the years, I learned a lot of things, made new hobbies and even made lifelong friends. So I knew a thing or two about an engine.

"The spark plug seems to have come loose" Eric states as I nod in confirmation. He looks around for a rag as he wipes away the excess oil.

"Can you get me a wrench?" He asks as he nods with his head towards the back of the truck, "It's in the red tool box"

"Sure" I smile. I walk to the tailgate and open the tool box. I look for the wrench and finally find it.

I hold onto it as I walk around to the front.

But as I get halfway, my body seems to slow down. My eyes get heavy as I groan and fall onto the summit floor.

I look down and see black ash covering my hand, 'hunters ash'. I noticed it was a mix of both wolfsbane and juniper, both toxic to vampires.

As my eyes close and I start to lose consciousness, only one word crosses my mind.

'Hunters'.

My head begins to loll and I slowly open my eyes, only to wince in pain when a bright light is turned on and shined down at me.

I attempt to bring up my hands only to be stopped. I look down and see silver chains holding me down into the ground. I could feel the chains burning into my skin.

I look around and saw that I was stuck in a room with steel bars and a circle of ash was keeping me stuck inside.

I could also see the outside of the room.

The room looked like it was made for torturing, possibly killing and keeping people like me captive.

I hear footsteps and look up.

"Oh... you're awake" Eric says in a disappointed tone, "I covered that wrench in a lot of ash to kill ten vampires"

Eric?! He's a hunter?!

He smirks when he notices my shock covered face, "Surprised?"

"W-why?" I ask, does Paige know this?
