PAIGE;
I walked into the house and closed the front door gently behind me. I heard someone in the kitchen, and I knew it was him.

My dear father who is the town's sheriff, has experience from the army and has a weapon collection.

"Paige" he called as I walked towards the sound of his voice. He didn't sound mad, so that's good, I guess.

He looked like he just woken up, he was wearing his red plaid pajama pants and a white shirt. His normal sleeping attire.

"Hey" I spoke softly as I set my bag down and sat on the bar stool by the kitchen island.

"Your principal called" he started as he was making a sandwich.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"He told me what happened" he said as he stopped and set his unfinished sandwich down. I winced, preparing for his scolding.

He sighed, "I'm not mad at you Paige, I'm proud... actually, that you stood up for someone in need"

I slowly opened my eyes and knitted my brows in confusion.

He was... proud... of... me?

"What?" I asked in disbelief, I prepared myself for his scolding on the ride here but it never came.

"I've taught you to be humble, and you've proved to me that you are" he smiled a bit.

"Especially for that family that moved back after all these years, everyone has shit on them" he added as I nodded,

Well he's not wrong.

"I'm just proud that you stood up for him when no one else was going to. I'm sure he appreciates you for that" he finished.

I couldn't believe my dad forgave me too, "Oh" was all I could muster up.

"What did you say exactly?" He asked as I bit the inside of my mouth not wanting to answer.

"Oh come on, Paige. I've heard your older brothers say worse things" he chuckled.

I sighed, "I told them to shut the fuck up because they were pissing me off"

He hung his mouth open, then ran over and hugged me tightly. I smiled as he ruffled my hair.

"My little girl is all grown up!" He cheered, I swear he was just as annoying as my brothers.

He let go and kissed my forehead, "Want a sandwich my little 'rebel'?"

I rolled my eyes at the name but nodded, he made the best sandwiches known to man.

We both ate and talked, I told him about school and about Jungkook. He seemed fine about him.

He smiled when I smiled thinking about him.

My dad never liked Gavin, he said he hated preppy church boys. He knew there was something off about him, he was glad when we broke up.

Of course there was something wrong with him, there always is. No one knew, but me.

I lied to my dad when I told him that I just ended things, saying he cheated on me. He doesn't know the real reason as to why we did.

No one knows, exactly why. Not even my own best friend.

I shook the thought from my head as I continued eating my sandwich. Dad finished first and stood up discarding his paper plate.

He kissed my head, "I'll be sleeping if you need me"

I nodded and smiled. He walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs to his and my moms shared bedroom.

Xavier texted me saying he had all of my homework and would find a way give it to me. He really was a great friend.

I was in my backyard, sitting on the grass. I was sitting towards the Summit and watched the branches on the trees sway back and forth.

I was scared to go in it but it didn't stop me from admiring its beauty... in the light of
course.

It was a bit chilly so I wore a Nike hoodie. The sleeves covered my palms, I didn't want anyone to see them.

It brung back unwanted memories. One memory, to be exact.

JUNGKOOK;
I parked beside Paige's car and got out. It hurt to see her get in trouble because of me.

I told Xavier what I was feeling for Paige and he insisted that I deliver her homework for her, so that's what I'm doing now.

I grabbed the white folder with a few papers of Paige's homework from her classes, it was the least I could do.

Deliver her homework and apologize.

Rumors started around school that she was suspended or expelled. I didn't believe any of them because they all came from him.

Gavin, he disgusted me so much that I had to thank Paige for intervening. I would've ripped his throat out right then and there.

I also found Paige even more attractive when she yelled at both of them. She turned me on just by her voice, it was hot.

I walked up to the front door and knocked, I expected her to open it but she didn't.

"Yes?" The man who opened asked, it was the towns sheriff, Paige's dad.

"Hi, um my name is Jungkook, I'm a friend of Paige's. Is she home?" I asked trying not to look and sound like a fool.

It didn't work, he looked at me as if he were intimidating me. "Yes... and aren't you that boy she defended today?"

I looked down and nodded. I fully understood if he wanted to yell at me for getting his only daughter in trouble.

"I'm pretty sure she's out back, you can give that to me and cut through the gate" he answered holding out his hands.

"Thank you, Mr. Ryder" I said and handed him the folder.

"Please call me Sterling" he extended his other hand as I took it.

"Jungkook" I said as we shook hands.

"You got a firm and strong grip there Jungkook. I like you already" he smiled as I smiled as well.

"Well I'll see you later, it was nice meeting you" I said as I started walking back.

"You too" Sterling smiled and closed his front door as I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding.

I walked beside the house and opened the gate. It opened and I walked through it.

I closed it and turned around. When I did, I saw her sitting on the grass.

The wind blew through her hair as her scent hit me in the face, I closed my eyes and sighed. She made me more than comfortable.

I walked towards her, and sat next to her to see that her eyes were closed.

"Hey" she spoke softly.

"Hey" I said, she opened her eyes and looked at me. I was probably the last person she expected to see.
