PAIGE;
I jolted awake, tired as ever. I sighed and raked my hands through my messy bed hair. I looked up at my window and it was still dark.

I groaned and turned to lie on my side, I tried going back to sleep but that quickly failed when I couldn't.

I just want to sleep until the sun comes up is that too much to ask?

I groaned again and sat up, I stood up walking into my restroom and brushed my teeth then fixed my hair.

I quietly opened my door, not wanting to wake any of the boys up at this hour. I softly walked out of my room and down the stairs.

I usually run on Saturday mornings or when I couldn't sleep but today I was too tired, mostly lazy.

The snacks and pizza I had from yesterday were now making me regret eating them.

I know later Lucas and I are going to workout, so at least I'd burn the calories off regardless of running then and not now.

I went into the kitchen and opened the fridge. I got out a bowl of grapes and set it on the counter.

I didn't bother turning on the switch, the soft moon light was satisfying my needs for now.

I grabbed a water and sat down on the bar stool. I grabbed a grape but it was taken swiftly from my hand.

They also grabbed a couple more grapes, "Hey" I huffed as I looked up, it was him.

"Thanks" he said as he walked to the other side of the counter but stayed across from me.

He looked at me as he held it to his mouth then popped it in, why did he make eating a grape look so hot?

I looked away blushing at the thought then picked up another grape and ate it.

"Why are you up so early?" Jungkook asked after finishing his grapes.

I looked up to him, the moon light making his skin glow beautifully.

"Couldn't sleep" I answered as I ate another.

"Me too" he sighed and leaned on the cold counter across from me.

"What do you want to do now?" He asked as I shrugged and opened my water bottle. I normally didn't hang out with anyone after my nightmare so it was weird.

"Want to go sit outside?" He asked as I thought about it.

"Hmm sure" I stood up as he followed me. We walked down the hallway and opened the sliding door then stepped outside, he closed it after us.

I walked into the backyard and sat on the chair swing that faced the Summit. I was normally scared of being outside and near the tree line but this time I wasn't.

Jungkook provided me this comfort and hidden joy that I hadn't experienced yet. He made me feel safe, like he could protect me from anything.

He sat next to me as I brung my knees to my chest. We both kept quiet as we looked out to the beautiful scenery the early morning provided for us.

I sighed it was really pretty, the way the moon shone down illuminating light where you could perfectly see, even in the dark

I sighed it was really pretty, the way the moon shone down illuminating light where you could perfectly see, even in the dark.

I shivered a bit as a soft breeze past us, I took off my hoodie in the middle of the night so nothing was keeping me warm.

"I'll be right back" Jungkook said before he stood up and left to go back inside. I leaned back as the swing swayed a bit.

The sound of the sliding door closing and footsteps coming towards me caught my attention. He came back as I looked up to him.

He held a blanket and I smiled, he sat back down and covered us both in the blanket.

I snuggled into him more as I set my head on his shoulder. I haven't done this in so long, but this time...

It felt right.

We stayed outside and talked about anything that came to mind until the sun rose. There were no judgments or mean comments and that's what made everything go so smoothly.

We went back inside once it started to get hot, I left him to himself in the kitchen as I started to get ready.

I changed into a pair of running shorts with spandex under and a long sleeve nike shirt.

I grabbed my water and walked down the stairs then into the backyard, Rocket followed me.

I sat on the grass and he sat beside me as I started stretching.

I heard the back door open and two voices following along. I closed my eyes and focused back to my muscles.

"Hey, Paige. Mind if we join" Lucas smiled as he set down his speaker and their waters.

"Uh I g-" he cut me off.

"Thanks" he smiled as I rolled my eyes. They both sat across from me and stretched as well.

I finished and waited for them, our warmup was running a mile. They stood up as I walked to the side gate and opened it.

We walked along the side of the house and stood at the start/finish line. The mile was down the dirt road, past the cattle guard and down the highway, then you turn at the marked tree and run back.

It was simple and doesn't seem like a mile at first but I didn't go against my dads words. I respected him too much.

"Marked tree?" Jungkook asked as he stood on my right side, Lucas on my left.

"Yeah, it's a tree that has a yellow spray painted mark across it" Lucas informed as he nodded.

"Ready?" I asked as I got in my stance, the boys nodded and copied my move. Rocket stood to the side, waiting patiently.

"Go" I said as the boys took off, I stayed at my own pace. Rocket stayed by my side.

Awhile into running the boys were both panting and jogging once they were running on the highway.

I chuckled and passed them along with Rocket who was unbothered by everything.

I turned around at the tree and started running back home, this always happened to Lucas when we ran.

To think he should've learned by now was an understatement.

I arrived home and did my cool down in the backyard. The boys arrived a little later after I did.
