Grandma lived a little further than us, in fact she lived on the other side of town.

Mom pulled up to her house and parked. We got out and Cole zoomed past us to see Grandma first.

I smiled and followed not soon after. He opened her door and we walked in.

We saw her sitting on the couch drinking her tea. Cole ran in and engulfed her in a hug.

She chuckled setting her tea down then returned the gesture. I stood there and admired the sight.

We took turns as I was last. "Oh Paige, it's good to see you"

"It's good to see you too grandma" I smiled as I sat beside her

We talked a bit about school and what I wanted to do after.

"You decide on what colleges you're applying to?" She asked

"All of them, as long as they're a thousand miles away from here" I answered as she smiled.

"Amen to that" she said.

There was one college I was set on going to, that was Brigham Young University or BYU in Provo, Utah. My dream school.

"You go running this morning?" She asked.

"Yeah" I nodded, she knew about me running to gramps when I couldn't sleep.

"Help you sleep any?" She asked, usually it would tire me out but the truth is that I'm scared of going back to sleep.

"I envy people in comas" I answered smiling, trying to seem normal.

We talked a bit more after that, the boys left to go play outside and mom helped Grandmas caretaker, Janet with something.

So grandma and I were completely alone. It made me nervous for some reason even if I knew her my whole life.

"So tell me darling, have you been having weird dreams yet?" she asked cutting the silence

How did she know?

"What?" I asked

"The dreams. The one where you see the dark figure with red eyes" she described as I shuddered

I nod, how does she know this?

"Grandma, how did you know?" I ask

"Paige, I'm sorry we didn't tell you before. But, he's coming and will kill anyone who gets in his way. I want you to be very careful" she said, well more like warned.

"Grandma... you're not ma-making any sense" I stuttered

"You just have to listen. There's no stopping him, he cursed our family after the hunts and murders we committed on his tribe. Once he's here, you have to run. Don't look back." She paused, I was confused.

Murders and hunts?

"He's coming for you after your eighteenth birthday. You're the only girl born in a family of Ryder's with three brothers. Your fate is coming" she added

"What do I do?" I ask her, I didn't want to die. Not yet at least.

"I'm sorry dear, but nothing. He's coming for one thing only and that's you. Blood for blood." she said.

I stood up and heard fizzy noises in my ear, I was gasping for air, I couldn't breathe.

Everything was spinning and my mouth suddenly went dry.

What's happening to me?

I tried walking but I stumbled and hit the floor on my knees, I fell and I was shaking.
