PAIGE;
I grabbed my phone that was charging on my bed stand and checked the time.

'4:38 a.m'

I groaned and laid back in bed. I just want to sleep till the sun rises, is that too much to ask?

I close my eyes and tried to go back to sleep.

After counting sheep and blinking my eyes various times I gave up.

I sat up and walked towards my closet. I was already wearing tights and socks so I grabbed my old nike running shoes and slipped them on retrying them.

I threw on my dark grey fleece windrunner jacket and tied my hair in a pony tail.

If I couldn't sleep then I'd just run. It was what I usually did when I woke up from my "nightmare"

I walked out of my room and down the stairs. I lived in a fairly big house, in the beginning of the Summit.

My mother designed the house and had it built by professional architects

My mother designed the house and had it built by professional architects.

I opened the front door and the wet ground smell from last nights rain hit me in the face. I stepped out and closed the door behind me.

I looked to my left and saw that my dads squad car wasn't there, he must've left for work.

He was the town's sheriff and he's been really busy lately, some people have been going missing.

I walked out of my yard and down the pavement. I didn't bother to stretch, if I get a cramp I get a cramp.

Ever since I've had those nightmare I started to run on the road instead of in the Summit.

That and my dad ordered me not to run in it anymore, since a person had been found dead there.

I walked a bit as my warm up and began running. I ran past the woods and down the long road, I ran on the highway and into town.

I lived in a small town called Silverton in Oregon. I've always admired Silverton only when it rained and stormed. It's really peaceful.

We have everything, a mall, a movie theatre, diners, fast food restaurants, grocery stores and small shops. It's somewhat of a perfect town.

The best thing to happen in this town was when they built a Starbucks here, that's how small it is.

Everyone in this town are church freaks.

Now I believe there is a god but I don't go to church every Sunday. There are more churches than libraries, that's how much faith this town has.

Everyone was up and getting ready for the day. I passed by my local grocery store and saw the manager.

"Morning Paige" he smiled

"Morning Boxley" I greeted him with a smile before running past him

I ran through town and past my high school. I hated that place more than anything.

I made it up the hill and entered the Silverton cemetery, that's where my grandpa was. His grave site was far but I always made it worth it when I ran.

I arrived at his tombstone and looked at it, 'Emerson Ryder 11-08-1945 to 10-17-2018', my moms dad.

He died of natural causes. We really don't know what happened to him. We hung out with him the day before he died, nothing seemed wrong with him even then.

My grandma was having it harder than anyone, she couldn't believe he left so suddenly.

Gramps was my best friend, he was always there for me. Whether it be me having a hard time in sports and school or just not believing in myself. He came to everyone of my games and supported me.

Gramps was always a hard working man, he made my mom and her siblings chase their dreams. He didn't want them to be stuck in this small town, mom listened but didn't do the last part.

My mom is an enterprise architect, she has her own business and her own team. She designed and built our house in the woods, so we'd be 'comfy' and 'alone'.

She didn't always want to be an architect, at first she wanted to be a doctor. My mom was super smart in school that her teachers believed she could do it.

That didn't work out as you call tell. She was doing so good then she met my dad after years and years apart, and then my older brother, twin brother and I were born.

She doesn't blame us or him though, she was in love and her father supported her of her choices. She hates designing and analyzing things but she's so good at it.

Nevertheless she's thankful for finding her talent. As for my father, he's the towns Sheriff, it's hard having a profession like that.

Everything started to turn for the worse since the killings happened. They always ended up in the summit. I sometimes fear him for his job, but he promises me everyday that he's safe.

I fell to the floor and sighed, catching my breath. Sweat was falling off of my head and the morning breeze cooled me off.

I closed my eyes and tried to meditate.

I heard meditation could improve my sleeping habits. So I'm hoping it could help with my dreams or nightmares or whatever you want to call it.

As I tried to clear my mind 'It's' snarl rang in my ears, that made me give up as I sat up. I put my head in my hands and cursed at myself.

Why am I letting it get the best of me?

I stood up and stared at my best friends stone, "I love you gramps"

I start to back away then make my way back home. By now the suns starting to rise.
