That Reveal: Meloetta

Remember when Hybrid and their siblings were revealed to the national public?

It was just a quick introduction video that went like this:

[scene opens with the Tao Trio vibing]

Me: [bursts into the room] 'Ello, 'Ello, 'ello! I've heard the recent news about a newcomer from here, who might they be?

Kyurem: Them? Oh, I don't know, they're pretty young right now, surely this could wait a bit, right?

Zekrom: Yeah, they're not even a year old right now.

Reshiram: Knowing the internet, we'll get disliked bombed because it wasn't the original dragon or something.

[Suddenly Black & White slams the door open]

Black: What the ever-loving fuck is going on 'ere?

M: So, when are "they" going to reveal themselves?

White: Whenever they and we want to.

B: 'Aight, wait. Hol' up.

[Black pulls out their phone and starts to text someone]

B: Yeah, it's good. Just no face or body reveal, 'kay?

M: Sounds good! Pirouetta, start the video!

[I start the video]

The video starts with a "sprite" of Hybrid (with the bonus of it being made by White) just introducing themselves. Looked like this:

Hybrid: Hi there! I am *NOT* the original dragon, but I can say I know a lot about them. As you can tell, I've did not just appear yesterday. I've been in the world for a few months now and...[starts talking about other things]

The rest of the video mainly consisted of collages of artwork the team and I made of Hybrid, Tanjiro, and Trinity. There were also a few minimalistic animations that represent Hybrid as a whole sprinkled around. It was all accompanied by a voiceover of the trio. They're doing surprisingly well for a first-timer. Then again, I did coach them for a while.

H: This is Kyurem Hybrid, signing out!

[The video cuts]

This one in particular was not received well. In fact, the like-to-dislike ratio is still pretty bad today. It's only on AnataRecord though. I'm not joking when the beings here are salty about the OG dragon not being here.

  Then again, there's always the possibility of the dislikes coming from them just not liking Kyurem in general. Seriously, type in AnataRecord.com and find Black and White's "reveal" videos. The dislikes used to outnumber the likes if you look at the timeline. Luckily the face reveals balanced that out; especially for Black.

Keep in mind whenever a legendary make a channel, the introduction video for them will always get disliked bombed for a few months. I don't know why, it just happens and we're desensitized to it now. Should I mention how big of a deal this type of stuff is in this country?

I thought it was because Hybrid came off as overbearing since all I did was just edit the script in a way that wouldn't take away their personality. It was okay, but it was about them. That basically meant adding in some tangents I had to cut out. Unfortunately, it also meant cutting out some context. I'm so glad this site still has video annotations.

I remember the Kyurems looking through the comments. Most of them were complaining about the OG dragon not being there while others were more about disliking Kyurem in general, which is pretty understandable.
