Todoroki's POV:

I jolted awake at the sound of a loud bell, signifying that school was over for the day.

Shit, I fell asleep?

Hopefully Aizawa didn't notice.

I gathered my things and started to leave.

"Todoroki," I paused and turned to see Mr. Aizawa staring at me, the usual blend of disinterest and sleep deprivation plastered on his face.

"Hm?" I said, turning and walking over to him. The rest of the class had already left, and I needed to get home as soon as possible.

If I'm late, Endeavor will-

"Wanna explain why you fell asleep during my lecture today?"

"I, uhhhh..... was up late training last night cause I couldn't sleep sir. I apologize, I should be more responsible."

He looked at me, still seemingly unsure about my excuse.

"Why were you training in the middle of the night anyways?"

I didn't answer.

Damn I should've thought of something more realistic.

"Todoroki you're one of the top students in the class, maybe even in this whole institution. I don't think you've missed a single lesson since the semester started. You usually pay attention well. You've got potential, kid. So don't overwork yourself, okay?"

I glanced at the clock.

Fuck

I need to get home

"Understood, sir. Sorry about that." I nodded apologetically and left and quickly as possible. I checked the time on my phone.

Shit

I'm already late

Just then, my phone buzzed in my hand.

[ Bastard (11) ]

Damn these must all be from when I was at school.

But why???

Oh yeah, I hung up on him.

Shit I'm so stupid.

I decided to check them later, not wanting to know what the messages were. I started jogging home, but my phone was vibrating in my pocket nonstop.

He must be pissed.

Don't open it...

You know it won't help anything...

Regardless of my thoughts, I stopped to check the messages anyways.

B- You dare hang up on me? 

B- You better do well in training today

B- Maybe it'll make up for this

B- But I'm not pulling punches today

B- Where the hell are you?

B- School has already ended, you should be home by now

B- I told you to come straight home, you disobedient mistake

B- You fuck up.

B- You can't even do something as simple as be on time?

B- So useless.
