Todoroki's POV:

"M...Mom?" I stuttered.

I couldn't breathe.

She was saying things but I couldn't hear.

My hands shook intensely.

I hid them in my pockets.

I felt myself becoming dizzy.

I couldn't focus.

I felt her grab my arm gently to get my attention. I let out a shaky breath.

"Let's grab some food and talk okay?"

"I-I-... I already ate."

"Oh. Well let's go talk, okay?"

"I.... Umm....."

"I know it's been a long time. I'm sorry I didn't reach out to you sooner." She looked down at the ground.

"I.... I...." I felt my breathing speed up more and I tried to look down to cover my face.

She can probably barely even stand to look at me right now

"I can't...." I muttered under my breath, my voice shaking.

"Hm?"

I turned the other way and began running back towards the dorms and out of her sight.

Once I couldn't see her anymore I slowed down and took out the vape again, taking multiple short drags over and over again trying to calm myself down.

It wasn't working.

I tried taking one really long drag instead, but my breathing was hitching and unsteady. I choked and coughed abruptly, gagging as I blew out the vapor. I felt myself growing dizzy.

I stopped and stood in the middle of the sidewalk, tears streaming down my face as I tried to take deep breaths.

I gripped my sleeves, thinking about the damage inflicted upon my arms.

I tried to focus on taking deep breaths, but nothing was working.

I started speedwalking back to the dorms, inhaling excessively on the vape. Nothing helped.
