He was talking about me. The great almighty Dream intended to take me in exchange for the life of my brother, but I couldn't work out why.He could have asked for L'Manburg to surrender or something like that, yet he wanted me.
I didn't even have to think about his offer. I couldn't have cared less about what Wilbur would have said or done if he had been in my shoes. All I knew was that I wanted Tommy to be safe, and that I would do anything, even giving up my life, to ensure that he was.
"Deal"
I hadn't even hesitated, surprising everyone, including Dream himself. Everyone just stood there, staring at me, quickly realising I was serious.
"No no no Y/N don't do this"
Tommy finally spoke up, shattering the deafening silence that had surrounded us all.
"Tommy please shut up. I don't want you to make this more difficult than it already is"
Tommy began to squirm more in Dream's embrace as the masked man's grip on the youngster loosened slightly."Y/N please don't. I'll be fine honestly, you don't need to give yourself up for me"
"I don't think you'd be fine if your lifeless corpse was lying on the ground before me completely still. I promised mum and dad that I would protect you at all costs Tommy, and that's exactly what I'm going to do"
Wilbur turned to face me, still allowing me to put my weight on him."Are you sure you want to do this Y/N? We might never get to see you again"
I reached my non-injured arm up and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Wilbur. If it means Tommy is safe, I'm willing to do anything"
I let a feeble smile spread across my face before turning to face my brother and the other men. Releasing myself from Wilbur's grip, I began to hobble over to Dream and my brother, becoming increasingly light-headed with each step.Tommy seemed to notice the loss of colour in my face as his struggling intensified, using all his strength to wiggle free from the masked madman's grasp, and it worked. He tumbled forward when Dream let go of him, clearly annoyed by his incessant kicking and movement. My brother remained on his hands and knees for a few moments, trying to regain some sort of composure, before he slowly rose to his feet and started running towards me.
"Y/N you don't need to do this. They could hurt you. They could do anything to you Y/N"
He wrapped his arms around my neck and held me tightly, a tone of distress apparent in his voice. He really didn't want me to go.
"Tommy, if I don't go, they'll slaughter you in front of my own eyes, and I wouldn't be able to live knowing that I could have saved you from that pain"
I could feel him trembling in my arms, his skin chilly to the touch due to the lack of blood in him, yet he wouldn't let go."I'll be okay Tommy, trust me. I'll find a way out, I always do"
I'd lowered my voice to a whisper so that no one but him could hear me.
"I promise I'll find a way back to you"
I took a step away from Tommy's grip and slowly glanced up at him, our eyes locking."I want you to look after Tubbo and Fundy for me okay? And listen to big man Wilbur over there. He always knows what's best for you and please make sure he doesn't overwork himself because I know what he's like"
I forced a smile on my face, trying to mask the terror I felt within.
"I'm so sorry for what I said earlier. I was just angry about the whole..."
I softly placed my palm on his cheek, wiping away the tear that was slowly flowing down his cheek with my thumb."It's okay Tommy, I understand. Well I guess I better get going. I don't want to leave the green bastard waiting any longer"
I managed to get a weak chuckle from the boy looking down at me before being engulfed in another hug yet again.
"I'm really going to miss you Y/N"
I smiled weakly as I looked over the boy's shoulder to the awaiting blond."I'll be back before you know it"
With that, I reluctantly pulled away, slowly making my way over to Dream and his two friends.
"Nice to see you again princess. It seems like we'll be getting to see a lot more of each other"
I could hear the smug grin beneath his mask without needing to see it. I turned to say my final goodbyes, a wave of fear washing over me as I realised what I'd gotten myself into.Dream turned around and started walking back along the wooden path, away from L'manburg, away from my friends. George followed suit as Sapnap pulled out a rope from his pockets and began to tightly wrap it around my wrists, glueing them together. I would've been surprised if it stopped my blood flow, but of course, he wouldn't care.
"Will you two please hurry up? I have places to be"
The arrogant green twat turned around so he was facing us, the cold eyes of the mask meeting mine.
"See I would, only if I could walk"
I averted my gaze down to my battered body. I was covered in blood and bruises from the destruction that had taken place and I was still losing blood rather hastily."Oh shit"
I turned around to see Sapnap staring at me with a worried expression, like he'd seen a ghost while looking at me or something. Meanwhile, with my back to the masked man, he came up behind me and quickly picked me up bridal style, holding me close to his chest."I mean, I could walk you know, I'd just slow you down"
I tried to keep the annoyance that I felt out of my voice as I spoke firmly. I hated being picked up. It made me feel small, and it made me feel like I wasn't in control."That's the point, you'll slow us down. I don't want to carry you as much as you don't want me to, but as I said, I have places to be"
He had the same hard tone as me, and he was clearly irritated but tried to hide it.I peered down to examine the large hole in my arm, watching blood trickle down onto the green hoodie that was wrapped around it. My eyelids began to droop, and I sat back and let the darkness swallow me.
