My eyes fluttered open slowly, weary from the length of time they had been closed. The sight of a blinding light greeted me. So this was the afterlife, fancy.

Everything was peaceful, with only a faint beeping noise coming from just beside my head. As I realised I'd successfully escaped my cage, a smile appeared on my face.

I was finally free.

When the powerful smell of bleach entered my nostrils, my smile disappeared immediately.

Hold the damn mother fucking phone. There was no way.

Hesitantly, I swivelled my head to my right to see a plain white wall with a doorway on it. And standing with his back to me in that doorway was none other than the green idiot who had gotten me into that situation in the first place.

For fuck sake.

As I turned around to close my eyes and wake up from this dream, I silently begged that he died as well, but that only led to a groan escaping my lips and catching the attention of the masked man.

He instantly turned around and looked at me. His mask sat securely on his face, but his hair was an absolute mess, sticking out all over the place.

He walked over to me carefully, the mask's eyes never leaving mine.

"How are you feeling?"
"I don't know, you tell me. How am I right now?"
I could feel his glare as he straightened out his hoodie.

"You've been out for a couple of hours because of the immense amount of blood that you lost"
I simply rolled my eyes at him as I attempted to stand up, but failed miserably when I became dizzy from the quick movement and fell back into the bed.

"I heard some sort of smashing sound from upstairs and ran down as soon as I could. If I was any later...."
"Yeah, I'd be dead, I know. That was the whole point dipshit"
I extended my bandaged arms to him, but he simply stared at them, clearly confused.

"Aren't you gonna tie me up and drag me back down to that hell hole?"
As he moved closer to me, he let out a faint chuckle.
"Nope, we've got places to be"
It was my turn to look confused, but I still pushed myself up and tumbled a little, only to be caught by Dream.

"Right let's go. I don't have all day"
I couldn't figure out why his tone had changed. He seemed unsure? Sad maybe. I couldn't work it out.

I followed him out the door and through the maze of corridors until we were finally able to go outside and onto the wooden path. We strolled for what seemed like an eternity in silence. I was acting like a child after not seeing the outdoors for ages, so it was all a shock to me. What surprised me most, though, was L'Manburg's walls appearing over the horizon.

I came to a halt when I saw a figure standing at the gates. He appeared to be well over six feet tall. We waited there for a minute, Dream staring at me, his head tilted in bewilderment, as the figure took a couple of steps forward before jogging towards us.

Once he emerged from the shadows of the enormous walls, his hair glowed gold in the warm afternoon sun. He was dressed in a red and white top. A top I hadn't seen in what felt like years.

I just stood there, eyes wide, as he wrapped me in the most intense embrace I'd ever had. Still in shock, I cautiously wrapped my arms around him and I nuzzled my face into the side of his neck.

"I missed you so fucking much Tommy"
That only made him squeeze me tighter.
"I will never let them hurt you again. Okay? They'll have to go through me and the crew. I'll protect you with my life Y/N"
A weak smile formed on my face as I heard someone clear their throat.

Oh yeah, I forgot about him.

I released myself from Tommy's grip and walked back to the green man's side, only for him to wave his hand at me, signalling me to stay where I was.

Tommy stepped forward, two objects in his hand, while the sun rays gleamed across them, and I just stared at him, confused. As he extended the objects out to Dream's already outstretched hand, I could see that they were round.

Where they... No. They couldn't be. They looked like discs. Not just any discs, at that. They were THE discs.

Cat and Mellohi.

"Tommy...."
"Y/N don't start. You're worth more than they ever were. Fuck, you're worth the entire world"
He turned back around after handing Dream the discs and ruffled my hair.

"Let's go home"

That day had been two years ago. The day I went back to where I belonged. As new members flocked to L'manburg on a daily basis, the nation's walls had expanded massively. There were a lot of new people everywhere actually.

I'd made friends with a handful of them. It was mainly only Jack and Niki, although there were also Karl, Purpled, Ponk, Badboyhalo, and Skeppy. I still had a wonderful friendship with Sapanp and George as well.

I went to see them at least once a week, and life had become a lot easier since the war ended. However, I haven't seen the masked man since he dropped me off, and I'm not sure if this makes me feel relieved or confused. Actually, it's most likely both. Maybe I was only ever a source of leverage for him.

I told Will, Tommy, and Tubbo about what happened a few days before my reappearance, and they were nothing but comforting, for which I am eternally thankful.

I still thought about dying, every day in fact. Yet this time I didn't want to embrace it. Not even close. I wanted the complete opposite. I wanted to live. I wanted to get away. As the same day repeats itself within the walls of l'manburg, I felt stuck, bored, and claustrophobic. I still find myself doing nothing despite the fact that there is so much to see beyond those gates.

I just wanted adventure.

Envy overcame me as I saw the two teens walk away and disappear through the walls. I couldn't understand how they were so lucky. How they got to be free and do what they wanted.

Wilbur had banned me from going out at night after Tommy demanded it, and he only allowed me to go out if I was accompanied by someone. I was angry at first, but I understood that he was doing his best to protect me, to keep me safe from the brutal world, so I was grateful for his concern.

Warm hands suddenly covered my eyes, rendering me utterly blind and oblivious to my surroundings.

"Guess whooooo"
