We'd been searching for two weeks.
From the brink of dawn to dusk, there was no sight of the young blonde boy anywhere.

I was losing hope. We both were.

Yet I'd still turn my head at the slightest noise in hopes that my younger brother would come bounding around the corner.

There was no one at the shithole once known as Logstedshire, and Dream was adamant he had nothing to do with any of it. He had spent hours attempting to persuade me that he had good intentions when he let me go, and he had even spent the majority of his days searching for my brother by my side, although sometimes he would disappear to 'cover more ground'

I was losing hope and slowly coming to terms with it all.

I wasn't upset. I didn't feel anything at all really, but I knew that it would hit me like a train at some point, so I just needed to wait and deal with it then.

I was unable to sleep for no particular reason, so I tried to keep my attention on the book I had in my hands. It was the best way I could occupy myself in the situation I found myself in. I was so engrossed in the story that I didn't notice the masked boy standing in the doorframe until he coughed.

Lifting my head to show my acknowledgement, I waited for the announcement that was bound to come.
"So the thing is..."
Rolling my eyes, I placed the book I was once reading to my side and stood up, yawning as I did so.
"Just spit it out"
"I think I found Tommy"
I froze momentarily before shoving past Clay to go grab my travelling cloak.
"What? Where?"

As he shook his head, he let out a slight chuckle, turning to face me.
"That princess, is where I'm about to take you. It'll be dangerous alright? But I've got the whole place rigged in case I need to get you out of there"
I didn't take in what he said as I pulled on my shoes, only sending him a quick nod as I straightened myself out.
"So what are you waiting for then?"

For the next couple of hours, I found myself walking behind Dream with more energy than I'd had in months. I began to recognise my surroundings by the time we arrived at our supposed destination. With the ground beneath my feet slowly deteriorating, dirt crumbling away to stone, I wasn't at all surprised by the sight of a gigantic crater seeping deep into the ground. The city that was suspended above it, however, looked a lot duller than I remembered it being. Yes, the lanterns were still flying high in the sky, and the sound of chattering citizens rung out through the air, but it still seemed dark.

Like the spark that it once had had been extinguished long ago.

I was so focused on the horizon that I almost tripped over my own feet when Dream shoved me behind him, hiding me from the approaching figures.
"Just the people I was looking for"
Slender fingers slipped in between my own and fixed me to the spot just as I was about to glance over his shoulder.
"What do you want Dream?"
The voice had quite a venomous tone, which was unexpected coming from someone so nice.

Tubbo was never one to be rude to another, but I guess people change.

"I've come to inform you that your little evacuee has in fact fucked up once again"
I tugged on Dream's hand, confused and uncertain and the group in front of him seemed to be thinking the same.
"What?"
"Oh come on now, don't tell me you don't know what he did"
When I finally peeked over Dream's shoulder, I heard a whisper of doubt, and my gaze was drawn to a set of emerald and crimson eyes.
