After that day, life returned to normal, or as normal as it could be when you're technically a prisoner. Dream had returned to his typical narcissistic cockiness. However, I did miss shy Dream. He was kind of cute compared to when he was all uptight about everything.

Anyways, I'd been stuck there for almost half a year at that point, and I'd never admit it to anyone. but I rather enjoyed it. I would've even considered the boys to be some of my best friends at this point, especially Sapnap. He was very cool.

They now allowed me to go out by myself as long as I was back before dark so they know I'm safe, so recently, I had been taking advantage of that.

Today was a scorcher, with the sun shining brightly in a baby blue sky as spring gave way to summer. I found myself yearning to be outside and feel the warmth against my skin, so that's what I did.

Standing up from my corner of the room, I said my goodbyes to a sweating George and a now-sleeping Sapnap before I stepped out the front door and into the forest to get some shade from the sun.

I strolled among the tall pine trees, staring up at the sky as I watched birds sing merrily as they raced each other, relishing the warm weather and gentle breeze.

Slowly but surely, I returned to the flower field, which had become my new favourite area. I'd been instinctively heading towards the field of multicoloured flowers ever since I'd been allowed out alone. I couldn't explain why I was drawn to it, but I wasn't complaining.

Running my hand through the delicate petals, I made my way up the hill to what had now become my official spot in the field. On my first visit, I sat in the same position with Dream. However, I had made a minor alteration. On the flat ground, there was now a jukebox for me to listen to music as my thoughts devoured me, and I had also intended on putting a swing on a nearby tree, but I hadn't gotten there yet.

I walked slowly up to my jukebox, digging through my pocket for my favourite disc before pulling it out. Actually, that was something Tommy and I had in common: we both liked music discs. This one, in particular, was made up of a collection of random tunes that I felt to be soothing in some way.

Resting down on the soft grass, I lay back and looked up at the sky, watching the fluffy clouds float above me while listening to the sweet melody of my music filling the air around me.

Eventually, I became a bit drowsy and I happily accepted the darkness that wanted to take me away into a dreamless sleep.

That, however, did not last long. Something little continually pounding against me jolted me awake. I tried swatting it away, but it only appeared to enrage whatever it was, as the tapping became more rapid, which quickly infuriated me.

Sitting up, I opened my eyes to see one of the many spring showers that had been falling throughout the previous week. The cool raindrops brushed over my skin, leaving me with shivers all over.

I just sat there, mesmerised by the sound of water cascading against the gleaming petals of the flowers all around me. Or at least that's what I was doing before I heard someone behind me clear their throat.

Swivelling around, I came face to-face with a rather soaked Dream. Like always, he stood a few metres away from my stop in the nearby tree line, sitting in the shadows.

"Hi?"
He cleared his throat once more before going out into the rain. He walked over to me before taking a seat beside me.
"Hey"
His voice was hushed to the point it was barely audible.

"What you doing out in the rain?"
I turned to face him, only to find the mask looking back at me, which made me blush and quickly return my gaze to the horizon.
"I could ask you the same question"
I gave a gentle nod in response to his comment before the two of us fell silent. My music was playing in the background, and the rain was gently falling on the beautiful petals.

A mumble came from Dream's direction which made me turn to face him again.
"Hmm?"
"I said I like this song"
I quickly glanced over the jukebox which was now playing 'someone to you' before looking back at him. His hand went up and unclipped the back of his mask before he slipped it off and stood up.

His eyes wandered before connecting with mine as he offered me a hand.
"Would you like to dance?"
I searched his face and voice for a hint of sarcasm, but I couldn't find it, leaving me shocked and with a bubbly feeling in the pit of my stomach.
"Sure"
He snatched my hand and lifted me to my feet, making me laugh as he did a little corny dance to himself.

We continued to take the piss out of each other for what seemed like hours while the water smothered us from above.

The next song came on and it turned out to be 'in luv with you.' Without thinking, I threw my arms around Dream's neck, delicately ruffling his hair with my hands before letting them hang loosely on his shoulders. He appeared to freeze for a few seconds before he instinctively wrapped his arms around my waist and tugged me closer to him.

Slowly, we started swaying to the music, each of us looking away from the other's eyes.

"I don't know where I belong anymore
I don't know what's going on"

A sudden burst of courage erupted from within me as I finally locked eyes with an already blushing Dream.

"Where I come from
Where I belong"

A smile crept onto my face as I found myself getting lost in his gorgeous green eyes as they looked into my own.

"More than summer and afternoons"

We started humming along to the lyrics in unison, nearly flawlessly harmonising.

"I'm in love with you"

I giggled as Dream sung along to the words as his gaze never left my eyes, not realising what he actually meant.
