I'm not sure if everything got silent or if I just shut out the small amount of sound. I made sure my eyes were still securely shut, shaking in anticipation.

Thud

The sound I'd dreaded hearing, the sound that made my eyes clench to the point where the backs of my eyelids became hazy.

No one moved. No one made a sound. Everything was silent.

Or everything was silent until I heard cheering, rather loud cheering at that. As I buried my head in my hands and cried into them, a tiny sob escaped my lips.

He was gone.

And that's when I heard it, laughter. It wasn't just any laugh, mind you; it was the laugh. The laugh that was so contagious that it would make the listener end up in a fit of giggles. The laugh that brightened people's days.

The laugh that belonged to my brother.

I carefully raised my head from my hands to notice a shadow cast over me. Tommy stood there with a cheeky grin on his face, hand outstretched to assist me, and I gladly accepted it, practically throwing myself into the younger boy's arms.

Tears began to fall down my cheeks once more, but this time they were tears of joy rather than despair. Looking up from my now-dampened brother's chest, I gave him the brightest smile I've given anyone in a long time.

"You did it"
"Of course I did Y/N, I'm a big man. Plus I couldn't leave you with bee boy over there now could I"
I glanced over to Tubbo, who was once again watching the bees.

"I suppose so"
Silence engulfed us once again as we looked at one another, each of us with a cheesy grin until he broke the stillness.

"Thank you"
I took a step back after releasing myself from his grasp.
"For what? I didn't do anything Tommy"
"That's my point Y/N, you believed in me, you were the only one that believed that I could do it, you let me make the decision on my own and I'm thankful that you had faith in me"
"But you could have died, Tommy. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if you did"

Tommy's grin only widened.
"But I didn't"
"But you could of"
"Still didn't though"
I rolled my eyes at the younger boy, scowling at him.

Then something occurred to me.
"But if you're standing here, then what was that noise...."
That's when I noticed it. I noticed him. A puddle of scarlet blood was just visible over my brother's shoulder, bringing me back to the reality that I found myself in.

There was a huddle of people, consisting of George, Sapnap, Eret, Punz, Wilbur, Fundy and a figure on the ground, which I assumed to be Mr. masked man himself.
As I rushed past Tommy to the disturbance, I felt a tiny prickling in my heart as more details of the crumpled form became visible.

He was gasping for air as he leaned on a rock, attempting to stay upright. The pool of blood on his side came from an open wound, but that wasn't what drew my attention. It was the arrow pierced deeply into the right eye of his now bloodied mask, a couple of trickles of blood escaping beneath the mask that was barely holding together.

"Y/N, we need to go now"
Sapnap was the first to notice my presence, speaking in a distressed and concerned tone as George and Punz yanked up a barely conscious Dream and began dragging him along behind them.

"Right yeah okay"
I quickly turned around, sending Tubbo a short wave, giving Fundy and Wilbur a quick squeeze, and my brother a tight hug. I saw their faces fall as they learned of my early departure, but I managed a faint smile on my lips before I chased after Sapnap.

"I'll be back boys, don't worry!"
And here I was, going through the motions of the same mundane day. Get up, eat breakfast, read, eat lunch, train with Sapnap and George, eat dinner, wallow in self-pity, and go to bed. Every day, the same cycle repeated itself, and there was nothing I could do about it.

It had been a week and a half since Tommy and Dream's fight, which had ended with Dream hiding himself in his room and refusing to see anyone. Really mature Dream, real mature. But I have to admit, it was making me rather curious. How could he sit in a room all day without getting bored. I could never...

I slowed my pace every now and then as I passed by his bedroom door, hoping for some sort of noise so that I could indicate what he had been doing in there for so long.

I've even stayed up late at night to see if he sneaks about looking for food or anything, but I've never seen him. Although, he does seem to be stealthy, so maybe I'm just blind.
Deep down, I kinda miss seeing him around, but no one needed to know that.

"Y/NNNNNN"
"What is it now Gogy?"
As spring approached, the weather began to warm. Sapnap, George, and I felt it would be wonderful if we all hung out and relaxed together for a while. George did try to drag Dream along, but he refused to open his door.

George and Sapnap were sleeping in the grass below me at the moment while I stayed up in a tree, watching the clouds pass by above me.

"Could you go get my glasses pretty pleaseeee"
I expected to see his glasses on his head when I looked down at the boy, but I remembered he'd just woken up before me and Sap had dragged him out, so he must have forgotten to pick them up.

"Why can't hey mamas man get them?"
George glanced over at Sapnap, who appeared to be fast asleep, before returning his gaze to me.
"Well he's lazy. Plus, he'd probably drop them"
"Oi I heard that"
George quickly rolls his eyes before giving me a pleading look.

"Pleaseee, I want to see how pretty everything looks with proper colours"
I couldn't say no to George, especially when he gave me puppy eyes, so I slipped down from my perch in the tree and made my way back to the ground.

The base that I had come to call home was cloaked in eerie silence. There were no high-pitched squeals from George, no sarcastic comments from Sapnap. Just perfect silence. Every stride I took echoed around the room, sending shivers down my spine.

George, like the other two boys, had a room on the underground floor. They all seemed to enjoy not having any windows for some reason, which I found odd but never questioned.

Making my way down the stairs, a distant murmur caught my attention. It wasn't my footsteps, that's for sure. The sound wavered in volume, which I found rather confusing. Me being the curious person I was, I cautiously made my way towards the noise, praying it wasn't someone trying to break in or something.

I found myself in a very familiar corridor in a very familiar position after turning the bend. I was in this identical hall a little over a month ago, listening to a particular person in the room in front of me sing, but now it was something else. The sound was muffled yet loud enough to be heard in the corridors.

Subconsciously, I walked forward until my nose was only inches away from the wooden door.
"Dream?"
No response. So I decided to knock.
No response.

"Dream?"
Worry began to sneak into my thoughts. Why hadn't he responded? Was he all right?
I knocked on the door a lot louder this time, guaranteeing that he would hear it.

"Clayyyyy?"
Still no response.

"Alright Clay I'm going to come in"
So that's what I did. I carefully opened the door, causing it to creak slightly, and I stepped inside.
