Tommy's POVThe weeks slowly faded to months as we continued working on what was now known as Pogtopia.
Techno always had his head down when he worked for hours on end. I'd never seen the god sit and relax since we'd first arrived. Sometimes he'd even disappear to god knows where, only reappearing the next day without saying a word.
Wilbur had grown quieter than normal, hardly sleeping and constantly interrogating everyone about their actions. He only appears to be capable of trusting himself. Everything about him had turned dark, his clothing, his personality, his mindset.
Y/N was still denying everything. Every other day, she'd go on a rant to herself about how it was all a load of nonsense.
God I wished she was right. That was the only time she spoke that I knew of. We were steadily drifting apart, all of us, and it scared the living daylights out of me.
Tubbo continued to drop by from time to time, sometimes bringing new information regarding Schlatt's new laws, other times he'd just come because he needed a friend.
Quackity had made Pogtopia his new home as he worked on his old connections with Sapnap, George and Karl. Despite that, he managed to keep Pogtopia hidden from them.
At that moment, I found myself standing between my older sister and my former leader in the small cave that held the entrance to our secret underground organisation.
Wilbur's whole fashion sense seemed to have changed massively. He now wore a huge black trench coat that was way too big for him, black pants, and a black beanie instead of his old L'manburg uniform. He didn't seem capable of laughing anymore. The only person seemingly able to make him do so was Y/N, but she didn't have the energy to try anymore.
At this point, Y/N seemed to be a different person every day, with black becoming her main colour theme in her clothing. She sat against the wall, wearing a black hoodie and grey sweatpants, staring blankly between me and Will.
"Tommy, are we the bad guys here..."
I snapped my eyes away from my sister to look at my friend, who had a serious expression on his face."Beause we kind of just made ourselves the leaders..."
"He does have a point"
I returned my gaze to my sister, a puzzled expression on my face.
"What"
"Come on Tommy, Mr. Schlatt won fair and square, and now we're trying to overthrow him. That's not right""Am I the villain here Tommy?"
I took a step back from the two, staring at both their tired bodies, too surprised to respond. I was overwhelmed with everything they were telling me.
"No, we started L'manburg together, Will, and we should've won that vote"
"But you didn't, did you Tommy?"
I shut my eyes as I took a long exaggerated breath, scared to open them again."Everyone voted for who they wanted, and you let your cockiness get in the way, didn't you. Both of you did this because you thought you would win. You knew you would win. But when you didn't, you try to take something that's now rightfully someone else's. It's not right"
"So why don't we take the role of the bad guys and own it Tommy? It can be me and you against the world like the old days!"
I cringed slightly at their expressions, which were a mix of lunacy, despair, and numbness."Wilbur no, this isn't you talking. You're grieving over something that we haven't even lost completely yet. We could still get it back. Come on Y/N, you see what I'm saying. Right?"
She couldn't look me in the eyes. She simply shifted her gaze to the cold stone floor.
"Y/N could you leave me and Tom here alone for a bit? I need to talk to him"
She simply nodded and without hesitation, walked away into the late night outside our small cave without looking back. She seemed to be in some type of trance."Tommy, you need to listen to me. Our nation is gone. It was gone from the minute we decided to hold an election in the first place. So why don't we blow the motherfucker up? Let's blow the whole thing up!"
As he peered down at me, the wild expression in his eyes deepened, causing me to shrink back against the stone wall."Are you thinking..."
"Tommy, I'm saying that if we can't have Manburg, no one can!"
"No Wilbur, I think we can do this. I think we can take it back"
I stepped forward, standing my ground as I faced him."I think this is a new era. We burn the place to the fucking ground. I want no crops to grow there ever again. I want it all gone!"
All I could do was shake my head as I listened to his rant. I became scared as his voice grew louder and louder.
I backed up carefully, moving out of the cave's entrance to get as far away from Wilbur as possible."Tommy let's be villains!"
"No..."
I found myself lost for words as I looked at how much my friend had changed. He had once been the most selfless person I'd ever met, but now he was a complete lunatic.
"We can get Dream Tommy! He'll help us. We won't be alone! He'll have everything we need to burn it to the ground!""Wilbur it's not too far gone. There's a reason we put our lives on the line for so many months. There's a reason I gave up my own fucking sister to the enemy. Even though I didn't have much of an option now that I think about it... but we can restore it! We can build it back to its former glory. You don't have to run away from your problems Will, you can help change them"
"What's the point Tommy? What's the point of rebuilding it from scratch? I don't think you realise how much blood was shed to get to the point L'Manburg was at. More blood would be shed if we somehow managed to get it back Tommy, and I know you don't want that"
"The reason we went through all that was to get away from it all, Will. We needed L'Manburg, and if we let L'manburg go so easily, then what's the point of it all"
"I know why you're doing this, Tommy. I see it"
I began to shake as he took a step forward, fearful of what he may do."I see it in your eyes, I see it! I can hear it in your voice. TommyInnit, you're scared. You're scared that people are going to think differently of you. You've got to understand that when I said you're never going to be president, that wasn't a challenge, it's a fact!"
A single tear rolled down my cheek as I stared up at the crazed man, trying my hardest not to break down. I only wanted to impress him, to make him proud of me. I wanted to be like him when I grew up.
"You're never going to be president, Tommy. I can hear it Tommy. You're trying to sound like you know what you're doing when you don't. None of us know what we're doing Tommy! We're fucked. We were fucked the minute we got thrown out. Schlatt's a smart man, he knows exactly what he's doing. He knows that there's no win for us, that there will never be a light at the end of the tunnel even if we get L'manburg back"
I heard footsteps behind me and took another step back before turning around, expecting to see my sister, but instead saw a bloody bone mask.
"Evening gentlemen"
