The day had finally come.
Darkness surrounded the land as each individual prepared for the inevitable.
I stood on the south side of L'manburg, completely surrounded by dogs that I'd become quite fond of on the journey there.

The boys were talking amongst themselves as I stared at the land I once called my home, finally accepting that it would be the last time I'd ever see it.

Dream, Techno, and Philza would be unstoppable. The L'manburigans wouldn't stand a chance and I was pretty sure they already knew that.
At least they put up a fight, unlike I did.

I knew the part I had to play.
It was simple really.
Stay out of the way and meet Dream after hiding a blue sheep.
Nothing too difficult.
I didn't know about the sheep though.
It might get blown up.

I subconsciously took a step back from the conversation going on because I wasn't taking part in it and no one seemed to realise. I took yet another and got no response, so I turned around and went on my way.
"Right so Y/N... Where the fuck do you think you're going?"
I swivelled around on my feet to face the masked green man but I kept walking backwards.

"What? Do you think it's going to be fucking easy to get a sheep in a hole?
Not to mention you'll be blowing this place to smithereens while I'll be doing it. The poor sheep will be scared shitless"
Sending him a curt wave, I turned and headed on my way to the floating city.

As I walked through the maze of buildings, it was deafeningly quiet. The L'manburgians still believed they had time to prepare, so they were all off in the mines or scavenging through chests to get some valuables.
I guess they hadn't listened to my warning.

Sighing to myself, I began rummaging through my pocket for my invisibility potion as I approached my destination.
The building in front of me had what I was looking for within its walls.
The house once belonged to Mr. Philza Minecraft himself. Popping the cork out of the glass bottle, I eyed up the glowing purple liquid that was contained within it. I rapidly chugged the syrup while holding my breath. It burnt my throat as it passed through, and the tingling sensation that followed was excruciating.

I could only see a floating glass bottle when I looked down at my palm, indicating that the invisibility potion had worked. Shaking off the fuzzy feeling I felt, I slowly creaked open the spruce door.
"Friend?"
As if he could understand English, a blue sheep appeared around the corner with a red lead tightly clamped in its jaws. At the sight, I instinctively put my hand to the beanie that never seemed to leave my head.

I really did miss Will.

I gently slipped the lead out of Friend's mouth and smiled lightly at him, shaking aside the grief that had suddenly overtaken me. I knew what I was doing wouldn't be good in the long term, but at the very least it would keep Friend safe from the bomb explosions.

The sheep seemed as if he could see me as I led him through the door of the house. Maybe he could, after all his owner was a ghost. Sighing to myself, I slipped through the streets of L'manburg, making sure to stay in the shadows and out of sight as the members flooded back into the streets to continue preparations.

It only took me about five minutes to make my way back out into the open, with the sheep cheerfully following behind me. We crossed a nearby field and climbed over a hill, leaving us in a forested valley. Over to my left was a cliff covered completely in vines and within it was a corridor that led to a room much like the final control room.
Shifting the vines and heading down the dimly lit path, I quickly tied Friend to the provided fence post before collecting the netherite armour that had been set out for me on an armour stand.
