As a wave of eyes turned to me and the group of boys, time seemed to come to a halt. Many screams of protest could be heard over the shocked crowd, but it was all muffled to me.

The noise rung through my ears, sending ripples of overwhelming sensations over me as I comprehended what the new president of the nation had just said. Eyes widening at the thought, I finally realised the eerie silence surrounding us as everyone stared holes into the back of our heads.

A gentle hand made its way to my shoulder. I quickly spun around to practically walk into Sapnap's chest, but before I could move, he wrapped his arms around me and squeezed me tightly before he pulled away and grabbed my wrists.

"I know this isn't how you expected it to go, but everything will be fine, you hear me?"
His voice was hardly audible, and he had a pained expression on his face.
"You need to take those two boys and get as far away as possible, okay? I'll try to buy you some time or something"
As tears welled up in my eyes, I just stood rooted to the spot.

I could tell it was the end.

I shoved myself back into his arms again, making him let out a grunt in surprise before he returned the gesture. He eventually let go of me, his sad smile still on his face. He quickly grabbed my hands and gave them a tight squeeze, dropping something into them in the process, before turning and walking over to none other than the masked man who sat a couple of rows behind us.

His masked eyes met mine and he cocked his head to the side, as if quietly questioning if I wanted help. I simply averted my gaze from his, not wanting him to notice the tears in my eyes.

When I looked down in my hands, I saw three small glass vials, each filled with a purple swirling liquid. Without thinking, I threw a bottle at both Tommy and Wilbur. As the crowd began to disperse, fully armed guards wearing iron armour headed our way.

Punz, Ponk, and Hbomb stood alongside them, all with lifted crossbows aimed squarely at us. I was a little taken aback at the sight of my supposed friends turning on me as soon as they had the opportunity. I unscrewed the cork of the bottle and rapidly swallowed the contents.

The liquid burned as it made its way down my throat, making my fingers tingle as I felt myself become lighter. When I turned around to face my brother and the former president, I saw them both slowly fade away before my eyes, but a firm hand seized my own.

"Tommy, Y/N, we need to run. RUN!"
As the hand jolted me forward, the buzzing sound of arrows surrounded me, causing me to stumble ever so slightly before matching the owner of the hand's speed. As we all made our way towards the gates of our old home, I could hear Tommy's heavy breathing from behind me.

Schlatt's demonic laugh echoed throughout the walls as everything went into complete chaos. Chairs were thrown and people fell as they all tried to look for the new fugitives. They no longer wanted their old leaders and friends as part of their nation.

Tommy's breathing became more distant until it couldn't be heard at all, and the hand tightly grasping mine shifted direction. After winding our way through the maze of streets, Wilbur and I found ourselves sprinting towards the old hole in the wall that we used during the wars. We'd never covered it up in case there was some sort of an emergency and I'm grateful for our past thoughts.

Once we'd gotten beyond the walls, we both started sprinting towards Eret's tower. The same tingling sensation started coursing through my body as I saw a nearly transparent Wilbur violently slam open the tower doors.

Both of us were panting heavily as I slumped back against the wall, watching the former president pace up and down, a look of worry, hatred and misery covering his features.

"Where's Tommy?"
"He should be here in a..."
The doors burst open again as a devastated blonde boy stormed in. His face was filled with rage and betrayal as he marched over to a now fully visible Wilbur, fists clenched.

"Tubbo's Secretary of State"
Even though his voice was barely audible, I could sense the hatred in every word.
He merely stared at Wilbur, oblivious to the fact that I was in the room, while he forced the larger boy against the wall. I got up and was going to step in, but Tommy beat me to it.

"He's hunting us down Will. My best friend is hunting us down"
The older boy attempted to console the younger, only to be pushed away once more.
"He doesn't have a choice Tommy! You need to take how he's feeling into consideration for once!"
Wilbur walked back over to the blond, and I stood there watching them argue like it was a tennis match.

"He wanted the job Will"
Tommy's eyes welled up with tears as he replayed the incident over and over in his mind.
"He tried to turn me in..."

The sound of many voices nearing the tower interrupted Tommy.
"We need to leave"
"Well no shit Sherlock"
As I dashed towards the door, the two turned to face me, finally realising that I was still in the room.
"Come on, we don't have all day"

As arrows poured through the air at us, we all hurried out the door, scampering across to the forest that surrounded the country of L'manburg and the Dream SMP. I looked over my shoulder as we approached the tree line to see how much space we had made between us and the group, which meant I didn't notice the tree root sticking out from the ground.

As I tumbled forward, I covered my face to protect myself from the expected hail of arrows, yet I was unharmed. As I dropped my arms, a sharp grunt sounded from above me. Looking up, I made eye contact with Wilbur, who now had an arrow embedded in his right shoulder from shielding my body from the rain of arrows.

I leapt to my feet, gasping for air, and sought to apply pressure to the cut, only to be shoved back.

"We need to go Y/N, we'll deal with it later, I'll be fine"
I nodded momentarily before standing up and slinging Wilbur's arm over my shoulder to help support him as we followed Tommy into the dark forest.
