"We?"
"Yes we. I'm not going to leave you alone in the house Y/N. You'll just leave"
I just continued to stare at the back of his head as he dragged me along behind him, making his way through the castle's grounds."Well you could have left me with George and Sapnap"
After hearing my response, he turned to face me, his pace slowing as he became aware of his firm grip on my wrist.
"George is almost definitely drunk and Sapnap is probably too busy talking to Karl or someone to pay attention to you"
"Well leave me in the house then, I won't leave"
"I'm not an idiot Y/N"I scoffed but ultimately decided to drop the idea completely as he seemed pretty adamant about me going with him.
He then turned away from me to look off into the distance as we made it onto the wooden path. I found myself looking up at the stars that shone brightly in the sky above us while the moon glistened in the horizon in front of us. We walked in a peaceful silence. Yet somehow it wasn't awkward.I was so mesmerised by the stars above us that I didn't even realise that we'd turned and began heading away from the house, towards an area I was yet to explore. I had been subconsciously following Dream while I stared up into the gorgeous sky, not really paying much attention to what he was doing at all. I could see the trees swaying around us in the gentle breeze out of my peripheral vision as we stepped off the path. After that, the number of trees began to decrease as we made our way out into a clearing.
A small gasp escaped my lips as I felt my jaw practically hit the floor. Looking around, I noticed that we were standing on a muddy trail in the most beautiful field I had ever seen. We were surrounded by hundreds of blooming flowers, some of which were nearly as tall as I was. The majority of them seemed to be either orange, yellow or purple as the rays of the moon reflected off their delicate petals. I just stood there, fascinated by my new surroundings.
"What?"
I jumped, scared by the sudden noise, completely forgetting that I wasn't alone. When I looked at him, I saw that the masked boy was a couple of paces ahead of me due to the fact that I'd stopped to take in the beauty that stood before me. After briefly glancing over to the hundreds of flowers once again, I turned my head back to face his mask, the moon reflecting onto his blond locks and making his suit shine."It's beautiful..."
The words left my lips as nothing more than a whisper, but the masked man still managed to hear them. He slowly turned his head to look around the flower field before returning his gaze to me."I guess it is rather pretty"
He paused for a moment as he turned to look back at the field of colour, clearly mentally debating about if he should say something.
Silence filled the air again as the boy that stood before me seemed rather hesitant about something."Have you never been here before?"
I looked back up at him, the moonlight somehow shining onto him at such an angle that made him look extremely intimidating.
"No, I haven't actually. Before I left L'manburg I was always told to stay within the walls because I was the weakest link and the easiest target for you, so I went and trained so I wasn't a burden to them all and then I came back"I turned away from him as I slowly walked through the flowers in front of him, the breeze making my hair float behind me. I continued onwards, leaving the man to just stand on the path all alone. I gently ran my fingers through the flowers on either side of me as I made my way along another path that went deeper into the field, enjoying the cold wind hitting my face. I laughed and giggled to myself as I went. I ran around for a while, enjoying the peace and freedom for the little time I had it. As I went further into the field, I caught sight of a hill not so far away and I decided to head over and climb it.
At the top was a small flat patch of grass with the tree line to the spruce forests only a couple of metres behind it. I slowly lowered myself onto the grass, looking up to take in the view as the sky started to lighten. I could see everything. Eret's castle, the community house, the many, many buildings on Dream's land, and the tall, dark walls of L'manburg. I sighed as I watched the distant flag fly in the wind, a tide of sadness washing over me. I knew I wasn't going to get to go back there for a long time, but that I should've also considered myself lucky with the freedom I had been given, seeing that I could've been locked up in an actual cell. I wasn't going to get to go back there for a while, and maybe I wouldn't get to go back at all. I softly began to sing to myself, trying to calm the flood of tears that I felt coming.
"Well, I've heard there was a special place"
"Where men could go and emancipate"
"The brutality and the tyranny of their rulers"
"Well, this place is real, we needn't fret"
"With Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, fuck Eret"
"It's a very big and not blown-up L'Manberg""My L'Manberg
My L'Manberg
My L'Manberg""My L'Manberg"
I turned around to lock eyes with the drawn ones that belonged to the masked man standing behind me. I held his gaze as a single tear fell from my eye and made its way down my cheek.
"I really miss them Dream"
He slowly made his way over to me before he sat down on the grass beside me as he turned to look out at the horizon, watching the sun as it slowly rose into the sky.He comes and sits beside me and looks out onto the horizon as the sun begins to slowly rise.
