_____________________________________“Hey, do you remember when we first kissed?” Potter’s voice appeared out of nowhere, breaking Draco's concentration. He looked up, blinking in confusion from his book to see the other sit down with a bright smile on his face as if it was a normal routine for them. Tons of questions swirled in his head. “Under that tree–”
“We have never kissed, Potter. What are you talking about honestly?” Draco cut him off, too tired for any more pranks, even if he deserved them. They hadn’t spoken all year. What did Potter want from him now? He noticed a flash of confusion covered Potter’s face. “Did you dream of us kissing?” Draco chuckled, feeling amused with this whole thing.
“N-No, I didn't– Well, it's just...” Potter went bright red, looking very much embarrassed. It caught Draco off guard because Potter looked very genuinely. “So we have never...” Potter waved a hand between them, asking with an honesty Draco had never heard from him before. Shaking his head, Draco now understood why the entire school had been talking about the Saviour's strange behaviour all year.
“Our dates at the Leaky Cauldron? Stealing your neighbour’s apples for the peacocks? You don't remember them at all?” Potter questioned with a tiny hint of desperation, watching Draco's reaction. Feeling incredulous by his behaviour, the blond frowned at him. “What the hell happened to you. Fly into a tornado & wake up in the land of Oz?” Draco softly questioned.
Potter started to mumble looking away, “Trust you... Nail... Head.”
“There you are!” Granger and Weasley suddenly appeared, running towards them, looking extremely worried and concerned. “Tell me something though. I trust that you could be honest with me. Am I friends with them?” the black-haired male asked him instead, pointing to the pair. Sputtering with surprise the Slytherin felt his eye twitched slightly. “Why are you asking me?” Draco was completely baffled, shooting Granger a look for some explanation.
“Because you’re the only one I trust, Draco," he said matter of factly. "Even if you aren’t you,” Potter quietly added as he turned to look back at the odd male. “I– Well, yes. You can... You can fully trust them,” Draco noticed how Potter instantly relaxed at his words.
Where has this strong faith in him come from? crossed Draco’s mind, making him slightly dizzy.
Nodding his head slowly, Potter scanned Draco’s face with sadness in his glittering green eyes as if he was looking for something before he looked resigned and then he stood up. Draco wasn't sure why that look sent knives to his chest but it did. He then noticed the female Gryffindor didn't move along with her friends.
Granger waited till they were completely alone, before sitting down, watching as Weasley left with Potter carefully. “So, do you believe in alternative universes?”
Draco choked on his saliva before he whipped his head towards her. "Pardon me. In alternative what?!" And so Granger explained what had happened to Potter.
"It was odd for us too," Granger smiled warily at him. "Harry went off to sleep that night and suddenly he woke up confused the next morning, not recognising any of us except for you, your parents, his parents and the professors. We went to Madam Pomfrey but she said everything was fine. It probably could have been the trauma of the war that made him hallucinate a different reality but I went to the library to check on what possibly happened to Harry and I stumbled across a book explaining about alternate universes."
