Draco stared across the Black Lake, watching the way the water rippled gently as the Giant Squid swam just shyly near the surface with a frown on his lips, curled into a small ball underneath the thin blanket he brought along with him from the Slytherin Common Room. The blond male was clad in his grey silk pyjamas, bare feet as he breathed in the cold air, mind clustered with tons of problems he didn't want to even think about but had to. The... unrealistic expectations his father had placed on him was starting to drag him backwards.

He tried not to think about his blemished forearm. Breathing as calmly as he could, he sang softly, "I'm trying to hold my breath." He could hear leaves rustling behind him but thinking it was nothing but the wind, he closed his eyes and continued, "Let it stay this way, can't let this moment end."

He tried to imagine how his life would be if the Dark Lord never exist or if Potter had taken his hand all those years ago. He tried to think of a life where his father never joined the Death Eaters. Behind his closed eyes, he tried to reach for the Harry Potter he had created in his mind. His saviour. His Saint Potter. "You set off a dream in me," he breathed out puffs of cold air. He had hoped even though he knew it was just some wishful thinking that perhaps Potter could save him from all of this mess he got himself into. Help, his heart cried out silently. Someone, please save me from this darkness. "Getting louder now... Can you hear it echoing?"

All he ever wanted was to be Potter's friend...

"Take my hand," he held out his hand into the cold air absentmindedly, trying to imagine how it would feel like holding hands with Potter. He tried to feel the warmth Potter would emit but all he could feel was the cold reality engulfing his own. He held in the sobs he wished desperately he could let out. "Will you share this with me? Cause darling, without you..."

All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the night sky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough

For me
Never, never
Never, never
Never, for me
For me
Never enough
Never enough
Never enough
For me
For me
For me~!

As if the Giant Squid could sense he was spiralling in his mind, one of the tentacles reached out gently, approaching him as if he was a frightened animal that needed to be calmed. Sniffling, he closed his eyes once again and leaned his face against the wet slimy thing that caressed his face. It was funny how he felt more comforted by an animal rather than other human beings.

All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the night sky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough

For me
Never, never
Never, never
Never, for me
For me
Never enough
Never, never
Never enough
Never, never
Never enough
For me
For me
For me~!

He sobbed into his blanket before he felt a broad chest pressed firmly behind him, strong arms with muscles probably from Quidditch wrapped around him in a tight embrace, into the secure warmth that made him shivered from head to toe. The familiar scent of Treacle Tart, fresh grass and broom polish made him whimper.

For me, he thought tiredly as he sagged against the male's chest, literally exhausted from his physicality to his mentality. "You're cold, Malfoy. How long have you sat here for?" he heard the other asked in concern. Potter, his mind supplied. Potter's concerned about foolish old me. My Boggart is odd.

"Riddikulus," Draco pointed his wand at Boggart Potter and mumbled the spell. Surprisingly, nothing happened. Instead, his boggart laughed and pulled him closer. "I'm not a boggart, Malfoy. I'm the real me. You're too exhausted to even know the difference. You should sleep, angel. What's the password to your Common Room?" Potter pushed some of his hair away from his forehead. Angel, Draco blinked blearily. He called me angel. Smiling deliriously, he snuggled closer.

"Adorable. But you didn't answer my question, angel. Common Room password."

"Your blood status," Draco breathed into the comforting smell and soon enough, he fell asleep.

"Alright. Goodnight, angel. Have a good rest," was all he heard and he felt a soft pair of lips on his forehead before he was out like the light.
