White was the first thing he saw as soon as he opened his eyes.

The bland colour of the ceiling made his eyes squinted as he tried to adjust himself to the sudden light. He looked around blearily, trying to remember what had happened to him to land himself in the Saint Mungos this time.

"Ah, Auror Potter. You're awake. That's good," someone said from his side and Harry craned his neck to see who it was before double-take.

"Malfoy?" he croaked. The blond male looked at him from the chart with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, it is me and it's Healer Malfoy to you, Auror Potter. Keep it professional, please," he drawled his words out much like Snape did except he said it with a smirk on his face.

Then he handed Harry a glass of water, helping him to sit up and drink. "Do you feel any pain? Any discomfort? Anything queazy that doesn't belong to your body? What was the last thing you remember?" Malfoy asked while jotting down something on his board.

Blinking to clear his thoughts, he replied, "I don't feel any pain except for this headache. That's the only discomfort I have on me. Well, I don't feel anything unnatural in my body either. I think I remember being hit by something while me and Ron were on the raid but that's pretty much it." Malfoy jotted it all down before handing him a potion. "It'll make your headache go away," he said before walking to the door.

"Since there were no serious injuries on you that I'm aware off, Auror Weasley and Minister Granger-Weasley are outside to see you. They were quite worried about you, your friends. Shall I let them in or do you want to be alone and rest?" Malfoy looked at him with an open look. Harry felt his voice was stuck in his throat, unable to come out as he stared at Malfoy.

"Are you alright, Auror Potter?" the healer asked softly. Harry only nodded his head curtly. "I think you should rest before I let your friends in. I'm pretty sure you're about to keel over from exhaustion," he said with a worried tone in his voice.

Malfoy helped him lay back down before looking at him with a soft expression. "When you wake up, I'll bring you food, if you want to eat?"

Harry nodded sleepily. "Yes, please."

Then he fell asleep.

Harry had woken up exactly a day after due to exhaustion of his body. He was still trying to get his body to reboot completely, still feeling a little tired.

"Hello, Auror Potter. It's good to see you awake," Malfoy said with a small smile, handing him a few potions for his body. Harry smiled back weakly as he sat up, drinking them all quickly before drinking some water so that he wouldn't have the bitter taste on his tongue anymore.

As he finally gained his stability, Harry greeted his healer back. "Hullo, Healer Malfoy," he said, croaking a little.

"Your friends are here again to see how you're doing. Do you want me to bring them in?" Harry nodded his head as a response and Malfoy dutifully called his friends in. He then went to check the board with a contemplating look.

"Well, Auror Potter, it seems that your body is fully healed and the spells that hit you weren't life-endangering or will it be soon. Your magic managed to help your body to heal. You still need to rest, however, and you need to minimize any physical activities for a while. I'd say five days to a week at most. Otherwise, you might exert yourself to enervation. You can be discharged today," Malfoy informed them with a polite smile.

"If I may take my leave."

Harry noticed that Ron and Hermione were about to say something, and knowing them, it was gonna be a few scoldings. So, Harry stopped his former enemy before he managed to slip out of the door. "Wait, Healer Malfoy!" The person in question turned to look at him with a confused look. "Yes, Auror Potter? Is there something you need?" he asked.

The blush came on full force and he scratched his head sheepishly. "Thank you for... taking care of me while I am in your care," he shifted nervously. Malfoy looked at him with pure amusement, clearly enjoying his squirming. "I-If you would l-let me," he stuttered out, face heating up. "I would like to take you out for dinner as a... gratitude."

Malfoy looked at him with surprise, sharing the expression along with his best friends. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his white robe, eyes glinting with mirth. "How unprofessional of you, Auror Potter. Asking me out on a date while I'm working?" he teased. Then his expression softened to fondness as he crossed the room to peck Harry's cheek. "Ask me again after you healed properly and I might say yes, Harry."

Harry grinned lopsidedly as he watched him leave the room, looking like a bloody fool in love, hand touching his cheek where Draco had just kissed.

Then, Ron's loud "WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK JUST HAPPENED, MATE?!" echoed through the room loudly.

"Healer Malfoy," Harry greeted in his crimson Auror robes when Malfoy was ready to leave his workplace just a week after he was fully well. The blond turned to look at him with surprise before exasperated fondness overtook it.

"Auror Potter," he said sweetly.

Harry felt like he had fallen in love with an angel even though he knew that Draco Lucius Malfoy was anything but an angel. "What brings you here on this fine day?" he asked knowingly.

"Well, you said the other day that I could ask you out again after I healed entirely. I am now. I healed. Entirely, I mean," Harry grinned excitedly. Malfoy laughed, sounding like a melodious bell ringing in his ears as he leaned against the counter with a bright smile on his face. "Indeed, I had. Go ahead, Auror Potter. Ask me out properly."

"Draco Lucius Malfoy, the angelic healer that saved my life. As gratitude I wish to convey, I wanted to take you out for dinner tonight if you would have me as your company," Harry bowed 90°. Malfoy rolled his eyes, a smile still intact on his face. "You are such a dork, Harry James Potter, but my dork you are."

"Yes, I accept it."

Harry cheered and did a little dance. "YES!" he whooped before he cleared his throat and settle down quickly. "Well then my angelic healer, shall we take our leave?" he brought his arm towards Malfoy. "Side-Along?"

"Yes, my dorky Auror. We shall," Draco said, chuckling softly as he looped his arm around Harry's. The black-haired male pulled him closer and Apparated towards their destination.

Two years later, they got married near a beach with all their friends and family attending the ceremony but that's another story for another time to tell.
