fluff, family moments, smut if you squint hard enough, good malfoys 😌
_________________________________________Dinner with the Malfoys in France where the family had moved to was not what Harry initially expected to be. For a moment, he thought that it would be filled with tensed greetings and stilted questions but surprisingly, it was quite the opposite of what happened. The Malfoys had welcomed him with open arms. Well, at least Draco and Narcissa did. He was treated with kindness and warmth, which he was grateful.
"So, what are your plans now that you finish Hogwarts?" Lucius asked, sipping his glass of fine wine. Harry glanced at Draco, who nodded at him encouragingly. "Well, I have no solid plans for now. I'm just going with the flow. Everyone expected me to be an Auror but I find fighting to be a little bit exhausting," Harry admitted.
"I remember Draco told me that you taught Defence Against the Dark Arts to your friends in Fifth Year. Maybe you can take that job? Perhaps a Defence professor at Hogwarts?" Narcissa suggested with a motherly smile.
Draco blushed bright red when Harry turned to look at the taller with a raised eyebrow. "Draco sure does talk a lot about me, doesn't he?" Harry giggled over his pumpkin juice. "You have no idea," Lucius smirked at his son. "Every year it just got even worse with the Saint Potter Problem™ of his. Every letter he wrote to us would have at least a foot paragraph written about you and your Potter-ness."
Narcissa chuckled amusedly. "Ah yes. That. Remember when he had that major gay awakening, dear? It was the third year when he wrote to us asking why Harry Potter had suddenly had a growth spurt over the summers as if we know the answers to his question."
Lucius sighed, shaking his head in bemusement. "Horrendous chicken scrawl, I tell you surely."
Draco covered his face embarrassedly. "Father, Mother, please stop talking about that. Harry is here," he pleaded.
They finished their meals before they moved to sit at the manor's parlour. "Tell me more about Draco, Narcissa. I want to know everything about him that I didn't quite know that he had in him," Harry sat next to her while Lucius and Draco went to sit across. She laughed softly and took Harry's hands into hers firmly. "Well, as you could see now, Draco was a fussy baby when he was born. He was adamant to keep Lucius and I awake at ungodly hours just because he needed so much attention," she started, making Draco groaned into his hands.
Harry smiled gently and pat the seat next to him, beckoning him to sit beside him. Draco did as told. "He was a bright child, always happy, always trying his best to make us proud. When he first learned about you, the Defeater of the Dark Lord, he was amazed. He told me he would make friends with you first if he ever met you in the future," she told. Draco leaned against Harry to cover up his embarrassment. "But then one day he sent a Howler to us, crying about you rejecting his friendship in your First Year. I was quite surprised, so to say. Most of his life, all he ever thought about was to be your close friend."
Harry pulled a hand free and linked them with Draco's hand. "I think it's worth it. We're here now, more than just close friends." The youngest blond nodded, smiling widely as he pecked his boyfriend's cheek lovingly. Lucius and Narcissa shared a knowing look.
"Let him look at the baby photos-" Lucius grinned mischievously. Draco instantly yelped and shouted, "No!"
"Oh, yes. The baby photos," Narcissa chuckled and accioed the photo album with a flick of her wand. The album went zoom passed everything before it reached the waiting hand. Harry giggled, excited to see some baby Draco's pictures. "This is when he was first born," she said, pointing at the first picture of a very red newborn baby, squirming.
Harry cooed loudly. "He's so small!" Draco hid his face in embarrassment again. "This is the one where he started crawling. Poor Dobby had to keep an eye on Draco the entire time," she laughed. Harry smiled at the house-elf nostalgically. "This is when he started speaking his first word. He said "Ma" first much to Lucius' disappointment," she added. Harry laughed out loud before he beamed. "That's when he started walking!" he pointed at the naked baby waddling carefully before falling after 5 steps.
Draco whined. "Stop. This is so weird. Mother!" Harry objected and told her to show him more.
First lose teeth.
First time running.
First toy broom.
First French-speaking.
Amazing, Harry snorted amusedly.
Then he saw it.
He burst into a loud cackle, wheezing.
It was their Fourth Year, he was sure. Draco was holding a 4-feet sized Harry Potter plushie, pouting with tears in his eyes on his bed. "Oh my goodness!" Harry wheezed. "I need a copy of this!"
"NO!" Draco growled and took the book from his mother. "That is enough! You will not humiliate me any longer!" he puffed his cheeks and ran upstairs. Harry chuckled before pecking Narcissa's cheek and nodding at Lucius. "I'm going to..." he beckoned after the sulking boyfriend of his.
"Yes," Lucius smirked. "Do tell him that dinner will be ready at 8 o'clock. I do not tolerate tardiness." Harry felt his cheeks brightened with colour before he rushed off from his boyfriend's parents.
It was worth it though, Harry thought, smirking himself. He got to blackmail him and also pound his adorable lover to the mattress.
