______________________________________"Had fun with your fan club?" Draco asked bitterly, not bothering to even lift his head from his book when Harry slumped on the couch right next to him, looking dishevelled.
"What, not even a 'hello'?" Harry snarked back. Hermione and Ron lifted their heads in synchronization, knowing that this was gonna turn into a fight pretty soon. The two had been tense and hostile with each other as of late. It was honestly starting to concern everyone around them. Not for Harry's or Draco's happiness but for their safety.
When those two fight, shit happened.
"Do you deserve one?" Draco asked again with a bored tone.
Harry looked at the blond he called his boyfriend incredulously.
"Excuse me–" he started but Draco replied instantly with, "You're excused."
He sat there in shock before gritting his teeth, glaring at him with disdain. "Merlin, I don't even know why I bothered! You're such a git. For fucks' sake! I was having a bad day and I thought I finally found my peace but no! Apparently, my boyfriend is being such an asshole when all I wanted was a bloody hello and a bloody kiss!" he stomped to the dorm room and slammed the door shut.
The sharp sound made everyone in the Common Room flinched.
Both of Harry's friends looked at Draco who sat there as if he was not at all bothered by it but they knew better. The couple could see the slightest tremor of Draco's hands that held the book and the way his eyes shine with tears that refused to drop.
They didn't understand why he was torturing himself like that. They knew he loved Harry just as much as Harry loved him. The fond looks he sent to Harry and the loving smile that was resonated only to him was a dead giveaway. So why was Draco pushing Harry away like this?
"I'll go check on Harry. You stay with him," Ron whispered to Hermione before leaving. She looked at Ron's disappearing back before taking the book from Draco's hand.
"Come on, Draco," Hermione said and brought him to the Girls' Dormitory towards her bedroom that she shared with Pansy Parkinson, who was currently out with Blaise Zabini.
"Tell me what's wrong, Draco," she said, holding the said male's hands in hers firmly as they sat on the edge of her bed. "Why did you do that to Harry? Are you aware that you're hurting him and yourself too?" she asked with a concerned tone. Draco bit his lips hard, the tears finally trailed down his cheeks, trying to push down his sobs.
"Oh, Draco," she sighed, bringing his head to her lap as she sat comfortably on her bed.
"They said Harry would leave me once he realised how worthless I am," Draco choked out softly.
Hermione stopped playing with his hair at the sudden confession. "I'm just trying to make Harry realise it sooner so that it wouldn't hurt a lot more later." She stared at the male with a baffled look. "Who said that?! What kind of nonsense did you believe in, Draco?"
Her questions were met with silence. "Draco Lucius Malfoy, you better tell me who had been saying all these things to you or else I'll follow you everywhere you go even to the toilet!" she threatened. He whined softly when Hermione gripped his hair tight enough to hurt. "J-Just a few younger students," he whimpered. "A bunch of Gryffindors, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs," he added. "I'm sorry."
"And for how long had they been bothering you, Draco?" Hermione asked firmly, knowing that he would answer her if she used a commanding tone. Harry had told her and Ron that Draco was always unsure of his decisions since mostly his parents decided for him and he had no say in anything. She had known that Draco's mental health was concerning but the moment Harry told her he was unable to make decisions for himself, she made it her task to train him to decide more along with Harry and Ron like what he wanted to wear, what he wanted to eat and not the things he thought he needed.
