"You gotta understand that Mogadishu in the '90s was a hellhole. Warlords controlled whole swaths of the city." Kreese said as he waved his hands eccentrically. After the Valley Fest, Johnny told Y/N that he was considering letting Kreese be a full-time sensei. Y/N hoped he didn't let him. Every time she was near him she just got an unsettling feeling. Like he wasn't who he said he was. Miguel was also wary of the man.

"My team and I were charged with cleaning the place up," Kreese added, finishing his story. He was telling Hawk and Aisha some story from his army days while Y/N and Miguel were on the floor stretching. Y/N looked at Miguel and rolled her eyes, making him smirk. They were both thinking the same thing. His story is bullshit.

"How many warlords did you kill?" Hawk asked intrigued. "You keep track of every any you stomp out?" Kreese retorted. "Badass," Hawk mumbled while Aisha gasped lightly. Y/N and Miguel both quietly scoffed. You have got to be kidding me.

Y/N and Miguel continued their stretches while Kreese launched into another story.  "They were outgunned, we were outmanned. I tell you...Rwanda was no joke." Kreese said. Y/N and Miguel exchanged a confused look. "Don't you mean Somalia?" Miguel asked as he got to his feet. Kreese turned to look at him. "Mogadishu is in Somalia, Rwanda's a whole different country." Y/N added as she also got to her feet.

Kreese squinted his eyes, lightly glaring at the kids. They called him out on his bullshit. "Of course, Somalia. I've spent so much time in the sandbox, it all kind of bleeds together, you know?" Kreese chuckled humorously. Y/N felt her face flush. Even his laugh creeped her out. "Listen up!" Johnny yelled, walking onto the mats. All the kids turned and looked at him, the newer ones a little more hesitantly. "I see we've got some new recruits. Everybody fall in."

Everyone got into their places while Kreese walked off of the mat and to the side. "Let's see what you're made of," Johnny stated as he started walking down the rows, examing the kids. He looked over to see a heavyset man with ginger hair and wearing a blue t-shirt in the back. Wait isn't that the guy who worked at the hardware shop?

"Sorry, parents can't stay for the class. It's an insurance thing." Johnny stated, obviously not recognizing the man. "I'm not a dad. I... I am here to kick ass, sir!" The man yelled. "Do I know you from somewhere?" Johnny asked, peering at the man. "He works at the hardware store." Y/N piped up. "Yeah, I sold you the mirror. We kind of bonded, talked about rock bands." The man replied. Johnny looked down with an aggravated sigh. "Look you're a little old. This is a class for teenagers."

"Well, I can take them. I'm not afraid of kids, sir. And my mom, she doesn't charge me rent, so I just... I got a lot of cash to burn."

The man pulled out a folded $20 and showed it to Johnny. Johnny snatched it out of his hand. "Yeah well consider this a trial run." He spat before walking back to the front. "I thought my last group of recruits was pathetic. But if you do what I tell you to do, you'll at least have a chance at becoming a fighter. But to do that, you gotta fight. So, which one of you has the balls to take on the champ?" Johnny asked. Y/N opened her mouth to reply when someone beat her to it. "I'll take him on."

Everyone turned around to see a pretty blonde girl wearing a cut-off long sleeve and sweatpants standing there. She was the one who had said it. "Oh, you will, huh?" Johnny asked, unimpressed. "I saw your little demo at Valley Fest. You guys can put on a show. Can you actually fight?" The girl asked looking around the room with a cocky smirk. Y/N was starting not to like the girl. No, I'll give her a chance I don't even know her. Plus it'd be cool to have another girlfriend.

"That sounds like a challenge," Johnny stated with a raised eyebrow. "I like a challenge." The girl grinned. Y/N had to admire her boldness and confidence. Johnny gave the girl one last glance before turning around. "Mr. Diaz, show Little Miss Hotshot here what Cobra Kai is all about," Johnny said to Miguel. Miguel nodded and walked towards the middle of the mat.

The rest of the kids walked off to the side while Y/N went to the front to stand next to Johnny. She wanted to see this up close. The girl walked onto the mat and stopped in front of Miguel. "Look, are you sure that you wanna do-" Miguel started with his arms behind his back. Before he could finish his sentence, the girl ran up to him and kicked him hard in the chest. Miguel smirked. "Alright. Game on." Miguel said getting into his fighting position. That was hot.

The girl ran forward and threw punches at Miguel but he ducked and dodged every one. The girl went to throw a kick but Miguel backed up, making her miss him. "Close the gap." Miguel suggested, referring to her kick. The girl went to do a roundhouse kick but Miguel caught her leg and threw her down. The girl did a  back roll and got back up, getting back into her fighting position. She went forward again, opting to throw her elbow at Miguel but he just grabbed it and pushed her arm away, making her stumble a little.

"You're telegraphing," Miguel stated as he kicked the girl in the stomach, making her double over. "Don't let me see it coming." He suggested. The girl got up and grabbed Miguel by the waist, pulling him down to the ground. "Did you see that coming?" She asked as she pushed herself up. Miguel wrapped his legs around the girl's legs and knocked her down. "Maybe." Miguel panted, pushing himself to his feet.

He walked over to the girl and stuck his arm out. "My name's Miguel." He introduced. "Tory." She replied grabbing his outstretched hand. She grabbed his hand and threw his body to the ground. She then his arm tightly under her arm and held him down by shoving his face into the floor. "With a Y."

Johnny and Kreese shared an amused look with each other while Y/N stood there with a stone face. Tory got off of Miguel and helped him up with a smile. Miguel smiled back at her and Y/N felt jealousy...again.

After the class was over, Y/N changed out of her gi and started walking out of the dojo. "Hey, Y/N!" A voice called. Y/N turned around to see Aisha walking up to her. "Oh hey Aisha what's up?" Y/N asked. "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today? Seeing as we haven't had girl time in a while." Aisha stated. Y/N nodded. "Sure why not." She replied with a smile.

The two girls left the dojo and walked to the convenience store to grab so snacks. As they were browsing, Aisha got a text. She pulled out her phone and groaned before putting it away. Let me guess, dick pic?" Tory asked, coming out of nowhere. Y/N snorted at her question. The girl was funny, pretty, and confident. Y/N was already jealous.

Aisha laughed. "No. My mom wants me to go to the beach club with her." Aisha sighed. "Oh my god, that sounds so miserable," Tory said sarcastically. "No. It's just...This girl Sam's probably gonna be there, and she and I are not on good terms." Aisha explained. "You two just need to talk things out," Y/N stated. Aisha shrugged. "Whatever, I'm Aisha by the way."

"Tory," Tory replied. "I'm Y/N. That's a cool bracelet." Y/N said, pointing to the spikey bracelet around her wrist. "Oh, this? It's not just for show. Some creepy guy at the mall tried to grab me once, but I managed to block him and give him a gift he won't ever forget." Tory stated. "Wow. You seem like you already know how to kick ass pretty well. What do you need Cobra Kai for?" Aisha inquired. "I've had a couple kickboxing lessons, but I've always wanted to smash boards blindfolded," Tory replied, referring to Aisha's demonstration at Valley Fest. "Oh, you saw that." Aisha chuckled.

"Mhm. And I saw your badass flip." Tory said, gesturing to Y/N. Y/N laughed. "You're the one who beat the champ. You more badass than me." Y/N stated, making Tory smile. "Well, I better get going," Tory said, heading to the counter with drinks in her hand. "Well, would you and Y/N like to go to the beach with me? It'd be nice to have some backup." Aisha offered. "Guess I could suffer through a day at the beach," Tory replied. "And I guess I could suffer through a day of free food," Y/N added, making the two girls laugh. "Well let's go," Aisha said. The three girls linked arms and marched out of the store, giggling the whole way.

A/N I was having such a hard time trying to figure out how to write Y/N and Tory's relationship. At first, I was going to do where she doesn't like Tory from the beginning and just never likes her but then I kind of realized that Y/N isn't like that so I settled on her becoming friends with Tory before all the drama happens.

Also thanks for 70K reads. I love y'all and stay hydrated.
