My parents are finally giving in! After months of asking, they finally agreed! I'm a bit excited for today, they said we could go and pick out some the next day, and that day is today!

Oops, sorry for not clarifying what I'm talking about. I asked my parents if we could adopt a homeless animal from the adoption center (they have so many abandoned and homeless animals that just need love from somebody).

I always wanted to adopt one of them and give them lots of love, but my parents always told me it was a lot of work to take good care of them. I know it takes a lot of work, but they are like humans in a way, we all just want a loving family and friends to support each other.

We walked to the shelter, and looked at many different species of animals who needed loving homes. Though, there was a few animals that caught my eye, like this small white-brown puppy with bright brown eyes. It looked very lonely, sitting in the cage all by itself. The employees told me that this puppy had self-esteem issues, and couldn't handle being put with the other dogs (it would usually whimper and cry when they tried).

I fell in love with this brown puppy, it looked so sad and it just probably wanted to be loved, but was too shy to show it. I asked for the name, and the employee told me that it was named 'Mateo,' meaning Gift of God (because he once was a sweet puppy who loved everyone and everything).

I decided to take Mateo home with me, carrying the puppy gently in my arms. He licked my cheek and lifted one of his ears up in an adorable way. My parents and I were about to leave the shelter when we heard a small meow coming from another cage. It was a black-coated kitten with small white patches, and had dark-indigo eyes that matched. The nametag of the kitten read 'Seungho,' meaning Victory.

It meowed pitifully once again, showing its small pink tongue. It also looked like it wanted love too, but I don't think my parents would let me take two of the animals home with us...

I scratched the back of its head gently with my finger, to which I heard a quiet purring coming from the midnight-colored kitten. The employee smiled at the sight of me cradling Mateo in one arm and petting Seungho with the other.

"It seems that both of them really enjoy your company," she said, to which I turn in slight embarrassment.

My father then came up to me and asked, "Do you promise to take good care of them?" I nodded in response as I cuddled the small puppy and the kitten in my arms, who both looked happy.

My mother then said, "We'll take them both," with a laugh. I was shocked at her words, but extremely happy that I could take care of both.

We took the two home, and I did my best to give them as much love and affection that I could give them. I enjoyed having them around the house, they made me happy whenever I felt down and I did the same to them. When I'm not home, I can say that I can find them playing together when I arrive back home.
