Sound Asleep | Amethyst x Prasiddhi

Author's Note: Yes, it's confirmed that Prasiddhi is bisexual, and that she has a canon relationship with Amethyst, so I changed it to Amethyst due to this, sorry for the trouble ^^

The Original Prompt:

Prasiddhi goes over to Amethyst's home after staying up all night. Even though Prasiddhi tries her best to stay awake, she ends up falling asleep while cuddling Amethyst. Prasiddhi is quite embarrassed (and half-asleep) when they wake up, but Amethyst doesn't mind.

[PRASIDDHI]

I waved goodbye to my sister, Zahrah, as I start to walk down the empty street. At this time of hour, not many people were outside, and of course, would not notice me. Perfect.

Just then, Zahrah called my name, and I turned around for a moment. She looked happy for some reason, I don't know why. "Good luck!" she called excitedly.

Why do I even need luck anyways?, I thought as I walked to my friend's house. I've been friends with her for a while, and there was nobody else who I could look up to, other than my sis. Her name was Amethyst.

[AMETHYST]

I heard some faint knocking coming from my front door. I could recognize them anywhere.

"Who is it?" I called, just in case.

"I-it's me!" I heard a faint squeak coming from the front door.

"Me, who?" I joked, opening the front door. "What are you here for, Pras?"

She shivered, most likely from the cold. "C-can I come in, please?"

"Of course, come!" I said quickly, pulling her inside. I brought a blanket out for her, covering her with it and giving her a bit of comfort. She sighed gratefully, wrapping herself deeper into the warmness of the blanket.

"Thanks," she whispered quietly. Prasiddhi's a shy person, you know? Ever since she learned her new spells and such, she's always been bullied for that, but she's very lovable when you get to know her better.

"You're welcome! Now, I'll get something for you," I respond back, heading into the kitchen. I pulled out a small mug decorated with snowflakes and poured in some homemade hot chocolate made by yours truly. I topped it off with marshmallows and a festive candy cane, for good measures.

I carefully set it down in front of my friend, and said, "Drink up! You must be cold!"

She looked at me with surprise, then took it slowly. She blew gently to cool it down, and while she was doing so, I asked, "Why were you outside? You know it's almost time to go to sleep for both of us..."

She sighed sadly and said, "I-I can't sleep, I had a terrible nightmare last night, a-and I couldn't fall back asleep, so... can I sleep here with you...?" 

Her voice trembled as she spoke, and I felt sorry for her, so I answered, "Whatever makes you feel alright, I'm a-okay with it."

"Thank you!" she says excitedly, almost knocking me over. I laugh softly as she hugs me tightly.

[THIRD PERSON]

Prasiddhi hugged Amethyst over and over again, causing the two to giggle uncontrollably. They stayed up late for hours, talking about different subjects like other friends, gossip, and just plain fun.

In a game of Truth or Dare, Prasiddhi had asked Amethyst if they had any previous crushes, which Amethyst gave in to (she used to crush on popular kids, but never seemed to find the right fit for herself). Prasiddhi's face fell after Amethyst told her about her crushes, which, obviously, Amethyst didn't see.

The two decided to go to bed, as it was getting late, and they were both tired. Amethyst fell asleep quickly, while Prasiddhi stayed wide-awake.

Pras had a fear of her own nightmares, which is why she usually wakes up in sweat every morning. She never told anyone about her fear, only her sister, but since Zahrah doesn't have her fear, she didn't know how to help her sister. She had to live through every single night with fright and the feeling of being alone.

[PRASIDDHI]

Calm down, everything will be alright...

"I'm scared..." I always whispered this to myself.

I looked over and see my friend sleeping peacefully. I didn't want to wake her up, but what to I do now? Usually, Zahrah was here to support me, but she told me to come to Amethyst for some reason... not that I would've rejected it, though, I am starting to like them...

Just then, Amethyst opens one eye and yawns softly. "You have trouble sleeping?"

"Yeah...," I admit, sitting up. She doesn't look too worried about waking up, but looks more worried at me.

"It's okay, try and count from one to ten, then repeat it over. That's what I do when I can't fall asleep," she says, looking at me. "You can sleep with me, if that makes you feel any better."

I nod, as I lie down next to her. I excitedly smiled as I snuggled closer to Amethyst, feeling warm and cozy. I started counting quietly to myself.

[THIRD PERSON]

Amethyst soon fell asleep again while Prasiddhi continued to count quietly to herself. But for some strange reason, she still couldn't fall asleep. She looked over at Amethyst and saw that she was sleeping soundly again.

[PRASIDDHI]

I decided to do a risky move, which I may regret tomorrow morning.

I roll over and move closer to Amethyst, without her noticing or hearing. Without thinking, I wrap my arms around her waist, and position myself. I'm hugging her without her noticing.

With that, I fall asleep quickly, snuggling and feeling warmth all over.

[AMETHYST]

I wake up, yawning as I notice something touching me, or in this case, hugging me.

I turn to see that Pras, still asleep, wrapped herself around me, which didn't bother me too much, considering that she couldn't sleep last night.

I smile as I hug her back, her quiet snores sound soothing to hear. Wrapping the blankets closer to her, I cuddled and watch her sleep so soundly.

Whispering close into her ears, I said, "I like you, Prasiddhi, I really do."

She smiled, still asleep, maybe from her dreams or maybe because she heard my words, I don't know, but I do know that we'll stay good friends.
