-your incorrect quote of the day-
[LARA] Just be yourself, say something nice.
[ANNIE] Which one? I can't do both.

THE ORIGINAL PROMPT:
Omar comforting Reza, who is afraid of storms, during a massive thunderstorm.
(The name of the fear of storms/thunder is astraphobia! Hey, you just learned something new! Unless you already knew that already-)

[OMAR]
I look out the window, storm clouds flooding the sky with a dark grey color. Looks like rain is coming.
I pull the window blinds and shades close, and get out a few lanterns, just in case the electricity goes out suddenly, and because I want to be prepared.
The rumbling of the clouds roll in, and the pattering of the raindrops fill the streets.
Matches, lanterns, radio, trying to be on the safe side this storm. I don't want to be unprepared like the last time we had a storm.
I heard a few whimpering sounds coming from behind me. I turn to see a curled up Reza huddling close by. He was wrapped in a blanket and turned away from the windows.
Lightning flashed outside, which made him yelp in either surprise or fear. He shook uncontrollably, squeaking with exasperation.
"Is something wrong?" I ask, still in the process of closing the windows shut. He shook his head, but ducked underneath the blanket.
I could see that he was afraid and scared, maybe of the storm and such. I mean, I used to have a fear of the dark when I was younger, but with a bit of support from my family and comfort, I got over my fear. Maybe he needs a bit of comfort too.
The rumbling of thunder suddenly boomed outside. Reza shivered at the sound, looking a bit paler. I sit down next to him and just continued to watch as he wrapped the blanket tighter.
A lightning flash. Then, of course, the loud thundering, just like the thumping of a horse galloping as fast as the wind.
I look down to see Reza curled up, his head laying in my lap, and tightly wrapping his arms around my waist, grasping my jacket tightly. I was confused at this motion, but soon realized that this is probably a way to help him through his fear.
I hold him close, and stroke his back in a soothing tone. His grasp loosened at the gesture, until he let go completely. I could hear his heavy breathing, with him trying to calm down, but also causes him to panic more. A panic attack, you could say.
I continued to stroke him and hold him like a kitten. I could see that he enjoyed it a bit, even through his panic attacks. Then I heard his small whisper, a bit muted due to the raindrops pattering on the roof and windows outside.
"...What do you do when you're scared...?"
I laugh lightly at those words (not a maniac laugh or anything like that, but a small playful laugh).
"I just do my best to get over the storm. After all, every storm ends with some sort of rainbow, and I like to see that in every kind of situation," I reply soothingly. He looked a bit more soothed at my words but also a bit tense.
"What if there is no rainbow? What if it feels like there's no way out?" he asked nervously, shivering at the thought.
I just smile. "There's always a solution. You just need to find it. The rainbow will always await your arrival."
He looked more relieved when I finished speaking. Then, he perked up and pointed out the window suddenly. Light was pouring through the blinds. I pulled open the shades and the blinds.
Outside, the rain clouds had parted a bit, letting the sun shine through. A pale, yet visible, rainbow shimmered in the misty air, broad and beautiful. Reza looked awed at the rainbow, and so did I.
Reza then rushed to put on his rainboots and his raincoat, then ran outside into the cool, damp air. I watched him stare with amazement at the rainbow for a few seconds, then called me outside. I also wore my boots and coat, then came outside.
In just a few moments, we were splashing together in the puddles left behind by the rain. Reza looked happy and cheerful again, like the thunderstorm wasn't even there.
This remind me of that day when my parents told me that I shouldn't be afraid. I should go and seek for the rainbow, hidden in the shadows and the darkness. And that's just what happened today.
(sorry I couldn't fit in much of a yandere Reza, I didn't know how to make him too much lovesick, so just a small, cute oneshot! Hope you enjoyed, otherwise! Lots of love to you all!~)
