[CHIDI]

I love crafting tales and weaving stories about adventures, fantasy worlds, and such magical places that I myself wish to visit if they were true to behold.

Everyday, I would go up to my journal and write a story, a story about myself traveling to these fictional scenes and exploring what no other has done. It was loads of fun, and I would lose myself in the pages of the book.

You would probably find me writing during class, at home during my free time, even at the dinner table! Adanna wouldn't be mad at all, but she did tell me to finish my food first.

"Chidi, I love the stories you make, but they can wait till you're finished," she said, winking as she passed over the mashed potatoes with a metallic spoon. I nodded nonchalantly, continuing to write in the small booklet.

Though, I'm pretty shy about what I write. I don't think others would understand the pure enjoyment I get out of writing these fictional tales.

I remember the first time Adanna got ahold of the journal, I was reddened with embarrassment, as anybody should if their personal diary or something was read by other eyes. I tried swiping it back from her hands, failing in the process.

"Wow, this is really good! You should become a writer, you're talented as hell!" she said, somehow avoiding me at every turn and finally handing the book back to me within a few minutes.

That five minutes she took felt like eternity...

"Thanks...," I replied quietly, hugging the beloved book to my chest. "Is it really that good?"

She looked at me with a raised eyebrow, crossing her arms. "Don't doubt your talent, Chidi. It's amazing from what I see."

"Well, okay, if you say so..."

I was hesitant to let anybody else read what I've written in that journal. It felt way more personal to me than I initially thought.

Adanna kept encouraging me to write my written fantasies and fictions, gently giving me the push to continue my works; although I wasn't entirely proud of myself, nor all the past stories I've written when I was younger.
