[REQUESTED]
I thought of this prompt yesterday night, and I may forget a few parts... Hope you like it though!
I don't know why I've been doing sad prompts lately... it just makes me feel a bit better about things when I do, apologies if it makes anybody offended-

[THIRD PERSON]
Ever since she was six, Indah had been staying at the orphanage for quite some time. All due to one night, one where her life would turn so suddenly. She could feel her breath turn heavy every time she thought about it, scared and all alone.
-flashback-
"You good for nothing little brat!" her step-mother said, slapping the little girl with her palm. She cried out in pain, trying to stand up. Then again, struck down by the force that her mother exerted.
"M-mommy, please s-stop!" she said, struggling to breathe with the air she had.
"Say that again!" her mother yelled, shoving her once more down to the floor, then stomping off to the kitchen. "I took care of you, I fed you, I washed you, and this is how you repay me?"
Indah held back her tears. She knew better than to start up another fight with her step-mother. Ever since she came to live with her after her biological mother passed, it had been much of a hard time.
It didn't help matters that her new step-mom was an alcoholic who seemingly had many mood swings from the drinks.
When she turned six, she knew that she couldn't stay home any longer. Packing her things and her favorite plush rabbit Carrots, she ran away from home. Somewhere that would take her in and treat her better than in the past few years.
For the first few weeks, she survived on the streets, small and weak from hunger. She watched everybody passing by, and hugged the stuffed toy closer.
Finally, the local orphanage of the area found her hiding in the alleyways. They took her in, and she was introduced to many abandoned young kids whose parents couldn't take care of.
She didn't fit in as the volunteers expected; instead doing the opposite. She stayed in the corner of the room far away from anybody, and always seemed to break into tears whenever someone tried to talk to her. She also showed forms of aggression towards anyone who would try and take her toy rabbit, causing many of the kids to stay away from her.
In Indah's mind, all she could see was her step-mother screaming at her for doing anything wrong, like accidentally dropping a plate, not hearing her correctly, or misspelling any of the words in the spelling book. Every person she saw was an incarnation of her, all around her and watching every move she made. Overwhelmed and afraid. Afraid of everyone.
She was never adopted.
As Indah grew older by the passing years, she set her mind that everyone was against her. She was against everyone in life. Her only friend was Carrots, her rabbit friend who seemingly guided her at mind. She cut off contact with any other person, and rarely spoke to people. Nobody knew what had happened in her past that caused her to be bitter and hostile, and nobody wanted to be friends with her either way. Even this boy in the nursery with big round glasses that seemed too big for his face tried to make amends with her, but she refused.
