[INDAH]
I listen closely to the beautiful humming in my head. It sounded wonderful to listen to, and much relaxing to do so. I've heard it many times as a child, though I never found out why I kept hearing this when nobody around me was singing it.
My parents suggested that it was most likely coming from my soulmate's hearing. Either they were listening to it or singing it themselves, we don't know, but whoever was humming it made it sound flowing, like a stream.
But as I grew older, I never really heard this lullaby much anymore. Maybe it was just a fragment of my imagination, I had thought when I stopped hearing it. Maybe it was all just a dream I had once. But I remembered the theme of it, humming it every so often.
Tonight was no different than any other night. All I did different was have the radio playing a soft, calming lullaby of the beautiful evening night.
I fell asleep to the soothing rushes of the hums, and opened an eye to a light. The moon was shining bright outside, and the window drapes slowly fluttered in the breeze. I lay back in bed, looking up at the stars outside the window, and then I noticed something. A small flash glowed near the windowsill.
I stood up to look at it, and to my surprise, it was a small fae, with sparkling wings and a light yellow glow. Just like what I had read in the stories. I gasp at the sight. Were fairies really real? Was I just dreaming?
The fairy flapped its tiny wings, sounding of bells chiming together in a hum. I noticed that it sounded like the lullaby I heard so many times as a child. I was intrigued by this tiny fae, as I watched it swoop and dive around my room with yellow dust following behind like a trail.
It then spun a circle at the edge of the room, opening up a small portal of some sort. I could see a vast forest in the portal, a graveled pathway leading through. The fairy flew into the forest, and I followed, ducking my head under some of the drooping branches of the trees above.
I kept an eye out for the fairy's trail while also taking a further glance at my surroundings. This forest was magical, no doubt. If a fairy can open a doorway to this world, then it must be of magic. I could see small animals in the distance, either playing or frolicking in the tall bushes and grass. I smile at the sight, but then focused on the fairy.
It made a sudden swoop in a clearing, all the trees' leaves brushed aside, letting the moonlight slip through. The grass was covered in flowers and beautiful kinds of flora, all sparkling under the light. And in the middle of the clearing was a boy of my age, with skin of a chocolate-tone, and dark hair that was tinted with the same color as some of the flowers, dark magenta. He sat there humming to himself, not noticing me hiding in the shadows.
But strangely enough, I could hear the lullaby he was humming, although I wasn't that close to him. Was it just magic? I was entranced by this boy, and slowly crept out of hiding. Immediately after I did so, he saw me and invited me to sit beside him.
As I took a seat nearby, he started singing beautifully. I recognized it clearly. It was the one I heard of as a child, and without a thought, I joined in. I grew drowsier by the minute, feeling tired all of a sudden. I leaned against the boy's shoulder, and felt perfectly safe and comforted by the boy's lullaby, still humming to me as I fell asleep.
I woke up in my own bedroom, back in my own bed. It was morning, and the birds outside were chirping. How did I get back here? Was that adventure in the forest all just my imagination?
But as I took one glance out the window, I saw the glowing dust flying high into the sky, and with that, I knew it wasn't a dream. The boy was most likely my soulmate, I just have to find him. No matter what it takes, I'll keep searching, I promised myself.
