Chapter 35 - gunshot

Instead of running after Rogers I just run outside. I don't need any equipment or to change in my outfit because I do that automatically. I finally got outside and turn myself black.

Then Steve and Natasha are coming outside.

-Y/n: "Why so much trouble if there was just some shooting?"
-Steve: "We think that it could get more than just some shooting."
-Natasha: "And you see that it's just going to be the tree of us.", I nod and they go to the garage.
-Y/n: "You know I could take you with me. It would be faster than a car."
-Natasha: "Alright."
-Y/n: "hold tight."
-Natasha: "Onto what!?"
-Y/n: "On my shoulders, idiots.", I had to smile.

They stand beside me with one hand each on my shoulder. I created black smoke around our feet and we lift up just some centimetres. Both couldn't really balance at first but after about a few seconds or minutes they got it. We flew to the location where the press conference is taking place.

Even though they were in danger, the paparazzi and the cameraman's took pictures or videos of us as we fly by. I Land us beside Tony, who is currently going inside of his suit.

-Tony: "Everyone is counting on you now.", he said to me.

I just nod and we prepared us to fight. Suddenly I heard a gunshot and could barely dodge it. I made sure that no one got hurt and thank goodness it stopped in a wall.

-Y/n: "Oke, now they got me mad, let's go!"

We first thought that there were just 4 men but soon a lot more started to shoot at us. They were too many and too many people were in danger to do anything. It would risk the new image and I can't let that happen.

-Tony: "Do you have an ability that we don't know about yet? Because now it would be a good time to unleash it."
-Y/n: "Are you sure about that? Everyone will be in fear.", we fly back to back.
-Tony: "Doesn't matter, do it!", he flew down again, just as I did.

I flew to the poor people who don't know where to go or what to do.

-Y/n: "Listen, we're going to need you, your biggest fears. Whatever will happen, remember that they're not real and they will vanish again."

I hear another gunshot and stop the bullet shortly before it reached one of the people with my black smoke. Now I wasn't interested in their opinion anymore. Out of everyone is coming a monster, more specifically a monster formed out of their biggest fear.

The monsters are running to the destination I told them to go and I left to fight again.

-Y/n: "I will make them go together so it's easier to catch them.", I told Steve, Tony and Natasha over the headphone.
-Natasha: "Where are you leading them to?", she asked me.
-Steve: "Lead then to the place where the old avengers tower was located. I've seen that they built a park where the building stood."
-Y/n: "You'll have to clean it from people."
-Tony: "On it. Make sure that they are where we want to be."

The monsters where surrounding them already, but they are still too far away for us. I make them run to the park and try to make them go further together.

-Natasha: "Y/n, what are those?"
-Y/n: "The fears of the people on the street formed as monsters. They're almost there!"
-Steve: "I see them."
-Y/n: "I'm going to surround them now."

The monsters are outside of the new park and the men's Are standing inside, trying to get out but they can't. I told the others that they can go through the monsters, so that we can reach them.

-Tony: "Put your guns down!", he is preparing to shoot at them.
-Man1: "No one is afraid of you anymore, Stark!"
-Man2: "You wouldn't shoot us, the only thing you care about is your image!", Tony takes his hand down.
-Y/n: "I will say this just once. Put. Your. Guns. Down."
-Steve: "Y/n, don't!"
-Y/n: "All of them wouldn't hurt you, but I don't give a fuck about the image. So do as I said!"
-Man1: "Oh please! You're just the new one and you're also bound to the image!", I lift my hand up and point towards him.
-Man1: "You're fun-", The black smoke is around his neck and he struggles to get air.
-Y/n: "I won't repeat!", I yell at the others, who are shocked.

They quickly dropped all their guns and I let go of the Man who also dropped his gun.

-Y/n: "Everyone on their knees and hands to the head!", I advise them.

I notice how everyone is staring at me, I probably screw it. After I look at them they start moving and collecting the guns. As they come back to wait for the police I heard another gunshot. I missed one. I missed one of these men. He shoots at Steve and somehow I see it in slow-motion. It was too late to stop the bullet but I could change the way it's going. It just cut him a little bit but not too much.

-Y/n: "Are you alright?"
-Steve: "Yes, thanks."

The police took care of all of them and after everyone got arrested and I made the monsters disappear, we flew back to the headquarters.

-Y/n: "Have I made everything worse again?", I ask Tony as we landed and Natasha and Steve are going inside.
-Tony: "I don't know. Maybe.", he laid his hand on my shoulder, smiled and also walked inside.
